Hey Grits!

I found out some info about that house you asked me about on the tour of homes. Be sure to check your PMs!

Morning All! Looks like a good day in the neighborhood. I put a screen door on the chicks house last night so now they can see out. 5 of them are going to a new home this Friday. No Mr. Mike they can not come to your house.  Lets do our rain dance today. I don't want the cool temperatures but sure could use of rain. I need for my tomatoes to catch up with Pappy's. I don't want him eating tomato sandwiches before me. Although the tomatoes I bought at the Farmers Market last week end were pretty good until the real thing comes along. But I search all through that tomato for the gold nugget that should have been in it.

Have a great day.

Morning all!

Did ya see the full moon last night?   I hear we're in for a Blue Moon at the end of this month.  That's pretty rare you know... only happens once in a blue moon! ;)

Morning All. Today is Thursday for those of you that need orienting this morning. That was a primary rule when I worked in the hospital. We had to orient all the confused people to name, date and time. Some days were very hard because I didn't know the answers either.

Have a great day.

Gosh, I was just listening to an Australian radio station online a few minutes ago and they were saying: 'Aren't you blokes glad it is Friday'? (Maybe it is always Friday somewhere??)

I was reading a book review (from Amazon.com) earlier this morning which was sent to me, and thought part of it interesting enough to share and perhaps think about. I liked what the review had to say and it left some interesting concepts to think about.

We live in a time of vast changes. And those changes call for entirely new ways of learning and thinking. In Five Minds for the Future: the author Howard Gardner defines the cognitive abilities that will command a premium in the years ahead:

  • the disciplinary mind—mastery of major schools of thought (including science, mathematics, and history) and of at least one professional craft
  • the synthesizing mind—ability to integrate ideas from different disciplines or spheres into a coherent whole and to communicate that integration to others
  • the creating mind—capacity to uncover and clarify new problems, questions, and phenomena
  • the respectful mind—awareness of and appreciation for differences among human beings and human groups
  • the ethical mind—fulfillment of one’s responsibilities as a worker and citizen
I'm going to order the book.

Mornin' all.

Good guess on Thursday, Jane!

I saw a story on some news show last night about a mother cat in Jordan or someplace that adopted some orphaned baby chicks. I would call it cute if I weren't so manly. Mr Mike will be looking for a cat hand-puppet right about now...
