Funny story.........I was at a supplier up in Michigan this week. When I walked in, they had one of those plasma TV screens with "Welcome to our Guest Steve Adkins", and below it, was my avatar spinning around.
It was Spyke's company. Spyke continues to read our forum pretty regularly, I got a kick out of seeing the avatar.
Spyke, you made my day, even though you still won't post here
How cool! Way to go, Spyke!! Thanks for making Steve-o's day!! ♥♥♥

GRITS!! When I first read your post, I thought it meant JANE was taking off for the weekend, then I remembered that some of her CHICKS are flying the coop today!!
Hope they steer clear of Mr. Mike and his bacon!!!
Maybe Jane will report in after she sends the kiddies packin'!!

Morning All!! Got side tracked this morning and started reading the paper then I had (it is compulsive) work the cross word puzzle. The puzzle pretty much worked out for a change. I go through spells when I feel so smart and then for weeks can't make it work.
The chicks are suppose to go tonight. They have gotten so big and are so funny. I do think I have one rooster in the bunch so will not have to search out a rooster maybe. They are absolutely eating me out of house and home. 50 lbs a week now. If we didn't have so many dogs and cayotes I would let them run free but they would not survive for long.
Winter is back today. I wish if it is going to be this cloudy it would also rain a lot but not going to happen.
We mow hay next week so we are guaranteed rain when we do that.
Its Friday!!! Have a great day!!!

While taking an early evening stroll through downtown Stokesdale last night, I saw these two beautiful women duck into one of Stokesdale's historic buildings (one actually accompanied by a rather lively Ninja bodyguard) so out of curiosity I followed them, thinking there must be some kind of beauty pageant or talent contest going on.
Lo and Behold, I 'crashed' right smack dab into a Stokesdale monthly Planning Board meeting where these two lovely ladies were covering and reporting the news for our local Northwest Observer. It was a very long meeting and we don't always realize and appreciate the many long long hours our reporter friends put in to bring the stories to us.
Thanks Vicki and Sandra!

Funny post, Jim! I didn't know where you were going with that when I first started reading! Sandra was the only one working last night -- I was just there as an interested citizen. One of the properties being discussed joins ours, so we wanted to go and check it out. We just happened to arrive at the same time and walked in together.
Actually, I occasionally cover the Planning Board meetings but always (unless on vacation or out of town) cover Town Council meetings. I always tease Sandra and Patti, because meetings in Stokesdale don't go on anywhere near as long as the ones in our neighboring towns. Last night's PB meeting was an exception because there were several high-interest plans being presented.
We had not thought we'd be there for the meeting, or thought we'd at least be late, because our ninja AKA HAYDEN was testing for his yellow belt in Tae Kwon Do at Hendrix Martial Arts in Oak Ridge! We gave him a membership for Christmas and he has thoroughly enjoyed it. In the four months since he's been taking lessons, he has advanced two levels. He had put on that yellow belt on the way from OR to Stokesdale!

HAHAh I can only randomly come up with such gems. Sorry. Fridays are like mondays around here sometimes. You have to work hard to get things for the week done.
I will be around. Have a good day.

Thanks Vicki and Sandra!
I appreciate the compliments as well, Jim. Since I haven't covered anything in Stokesdale lately, I didn't quite know what to expect, so I made sure to keep my personal ninja close at hand. Luckily I didn't need him, but I know he could have taken care of any situation that may have arisen.
Don't you think it's interesting that Vicki doesn't seem to be available when a meeting with a long agenda comes up. Hmmmm...... (Actually it didn't bother me a bit, being used to 4-5 hr. meetings on a consistent basis in Summerfield. At least I had a padded chair!)

Ooooh, Sounds like fun!! Especially if we find out he's feedin' 'em "medicine!" 'Cause OF COURSE we'd have to check it out to see how it works!!!
When are we headin' out???
