The White House this afternoon released the menu for tonight's formal white tie dinner for Queen Elizabeth as follows:
Spring pea soup with fernleaf lavender
Chive pizzelle with American caviar
Newton Chardonnay Unfiltered 2004
Dover sole almondine
Roasted artichokes, pequillo peppers and olives
Saddle of spring lamb
Chanterelle sauce
Fricassee of baby vegetables
Peter Michael Les Pavots 2003
Arugula, Savannah mustard and mint romaine
Champagne dressing and trio of farmhouse cheeses
"Rose Blossoms"
Schramsberg Brut Rose 2004
I'm a little curious as to what the dress attire and menu might well have been for the Queen's dinner if she had come to our Northwest area and we had been her host? What do you think?
I guess a pot luck dinner wouldn't be appropriate for a Queen?

Mike, are you trying to impress the Queen or get her to move here?

'Dukes Of Hazzard' Replica Car Sells For $10M
Actor and songwriter John Schneider, who played the blond heartthrob Bo Duke in 1980s classic television show "The Dukes of Hazzard," sold his 1969 Dodge Charger on eBay Friday for nearly $10 million.
Although all eBay bids are considered a legally binding contract, the transaction isn't official yet.
If the winning bidder comes through with cash or financing, the replica of the famed "General Lee" will be the most expensive item ever sold by online auction company eBay.
The car auctioned this week was not part of the original "Dukes" show, which began in 1979.
Although it's not the original car, all the living original cast members and crew from the television show signed their autographs under the hood of the car that sold Friday.
The car was featured in the movie "Dukes Go To Hollywood," and Schneider raced it in The Silver State Classic Challenge in Nevada.
Okay, Pappy!!! When do we get to take her out for a spin???

Morning All!! I woke up this morning and my heat was on. That is ridiculous on May 8th. It is chilly and windy out this morning. The dogs just loved it. I sure do feel sorry for my hummingbirds. They must really be cold. The female has started coming to the feeder but haven't seen the male yet. Maybe he is sitting on the next. Lots of baby bluebirds in the bird houses. Several houses of chickedees. We also have a nest in the pole that the old satelite use to be on. I do not know how the babies get out but they did last year.
Hope everybody has a great day. Summerfield Town Council tonight at 6:30.

Morning Jane
We lost 2 baby bluebirds yesterday (no I didn't wrap bacon on them) A 4 ft black snake went up the pole and in the 1 inch hole in the birdhouse and had lunch. My dad had fun getting that snake out of the bird house.....

Black Snakes do consider baby bird a great delicacy. One year I opened a bird house and two black snakes fell out to my feet. I am surprised they did not hear me in Stokesdale. That is an experience you don't quickly forget.

LOL you're crackin' me up with the Queen stuff Pappy!
I saw the dinner on the news this morning and I couldn't help wondering if George and Laura got some kind of coaching as to what to talk about at that little table during dinner?
Can you imagine George talkin' about some of those menu items??? The man can't say Nuclear for heaven's sake, and we let him hang with Queen Liz????
Anyway, I can't imagine a more uncomfortable dinner..... sitting there having to entertain the Queen....
I'd have to ask her to let me try on her crown I think. I do think I'd look exceptionally nice in a sparkly crown like she was wearin'. Wonder where I can get one of those? A simple tiara won't do. It's got to be a crown. I'm going to check ebay.

Maybe George didn't need to talk about anything nuke-u-lar!!!
I heard that when the Queen stops eating, everybody has to!! What if you're sitting so far away that you can't tell?!? Do they jerk the plate away from you?? Do you have to swallow real quick!!
