Well, I know I don't usually post a lot, but I came on here to post this and then saw FatPappy's previous post and couldn't resist.
Anyway, our older son called this morning and told me that the funniest thing in his life had just happened. I couldn't imagine what in the world that could be! He said he was at High Point University b/c his girlfriend was playing for the commencement ceremony. Before things got started he was hanging around and was leaning against a tree. He noticed some police officers approaching and then noticed a man in a long robe. As the man approached he turned to Philip and said, "Look at you, there, holding up that tree so it won't fall down!"
As the man walked on, Philip realized it was Bill Cosby, who was the commencement speaker at HPU today.

Now I know George has been all around -- Winston-Salem and Forsyth County, at War Memorial Stadium in Greensboro -- I didn't know he was going to be in Summerfield!! When??? Where is the "Old Hodgin's House"?

Forget that Macca--my hubby just told me I misunderstood. The "leatherhead" crew will be there to shoot the snow scene. Clooney won't be there. I could have swore that is what he said this morning. And it is the Hoskins house. Whoops, my mistake again. The med-xxx is startin to take effect. Last edited on May 6th, 2007 01:50 am by GRITS

Another derby day come and gone , congrats to Street Sense and his jockey calvin ?.
Lets see my pick to win wound up 19th, my second place pick finished 10th, my third place pick finished 6th and my longshot was nowhere near.
It really is the most exciting 2 minutes in sports.

You know, we always watch the Derby. Even used to go to a big bash..... Never have bet, though. I think I'd take "the rest of the field." Of course, that wouldn't have worked today.
It IS exciting, isn't it? And they always find some way to make you so happy for these people who have just won $1+M!

Mornin' all. That's a right refreshin' wind a-blowin' out yonder!
Mebbe George Clooney (since I'm sure he reads the forum) will work that famous layin' down in the cow pasture scene into his movie while he's around here. Hee hee! Have your people call Crackah's people to work out the royalties, George.
As a matter o' fact, just take the whole forum, George. There's the screenplay fer yer next movie! Slide some money through the CD slot. We'll tell you when it's enough.
Speakin' o' royalty, how come the Queen didn't come by while she was visitin' Virginny? Too good fer us, I reckon. See if I vote fer her ag'in.

Morning All!! My chicks say they are chilly this morning. It is cool but gorgeous out. The wind is blowing up a storm. Bought some Basil plants at the Farmemers Market yesterday. I may go stick them out but it is suppose to get pretty chilly tonight. I love the smell of basil. Good story in the paper today on John Wray. I do think he looks well preserved for 85. Thats what the paper said he was 85. Wonder if he has been taking some of Pappy's super dooper medicine. I bet Pappy would be plumb bald if he had taken his hair replacement medication.
Have a great day all.
