Today is glorious!  The birds are just singing away this morning. The bad news is one of our dogs had a horrible accident in her kennel during the night. The good news is my husband got up first this morning so he had to clean up. Yeah!! I really do live right inspite of what some people think.

Everybody have a great day. Pappy I am going to run over to the Farmers Market before the ball field duty and buy the rest of my tomatoes. The ones I have planted are very happy. Not as happy as yours it doesn't seem because my are just pretty much standing out in the garden growing.

Yee haw! Nuthin' like maters from the garden! Grits, maters, throw in a biscuit or two...HAW! Whoops...fergot the bacon, but it's prob'ly all gone by now anyway.

Well, reckon I better sharpen up the mower blades an' get ready fer some serious Tokyo driftin'. I thought it was cloudy this mornin' but it's the grass a-growin' up past the winders!

Isn't this the time when these kinds of discoveries should be made?  Not after the property is purchased?

If you hired a contractor to build your dream home, and you discovered halfway through the buildng process that your contractor had completely missed including the area for your kitchen, would you continue down the road with your incompetent contractor?

Of course not, but in this case, the lot for the dream home hasn't been purchased yet and construction hasn't started.   Not sure from Jane's original posting where the error may have occurred.

Blame it on Gomer Pyle.

Is Gomer doing your land planning or surveying or crunching the numbers?

Nice article in this morning's New York Times entitled The South Under Siege, Yet Again which concerns the pressures and problems of growth and development in Hillsborough, North Carolina. Hillsborough is one of my favorite small towns in America and it has some wonderful restaurants and shops down there if you haven't been lately. It has some of the most interesting and beautiful historical homes and sites of any town in North Carolina and it's only an hour away.

Some of the same growth issues which face those of us here in the Northwest. Here's a link to the story:

Mornin' all!

Howdy, Grits.

Pappy misses the Jane report too! I had to go back an' read some old ones to get my fix.

Pappy's maters is doin' good. If Mr MIke would do his part an' plant a few rows o' bacon biscuits, we'd have us a good BLT harvest in a few weeks.

Afternoon All!! Got caught up this morning reading the Sunday paper and then we took 5 dogs and 6 adults for a walk in the Summerfield park. The 6th person is the pooper scooper. Park needs more garbage cans. The dogs love it but they are such a group of goofs and the humans didn't look any better. Great fun. Did notice lots of kudzu coming up along the trail. It a great walk probably not much more than a mile if you walk to the entrance at Henson Farms and back.

Pappy I planted 10 more tomato plants last evening and they vowed that they would be smarter and prettier than yours.

hi, just got back from the park, very HOT on the slides! Park count 15 !!! I noticed the Kudzo also. I thought we also needed some pretty azaela's blooming under the trees in front of the playground area.

Does anybody have some input on different blooming plants at different times of the seasons -- just for added beauty that can be added (and keep in mind LOW MAINTENANCE)?
