Thought I'd tell y'all I was a model citizen today.  Totally polite, didn't cut anybody off, didn't pull out in front of anybody, never touched the horn, in fact I never touched the steering wheel.  My wife wouldn't let me drive.   :(:?

Saw that fire truck that ran off the road near 4 Seasons yesterday (Christmas morning). Don't see something like that everyday. Pretty far off the road and stuck in the mud and underbrush. The kiddies were amazed to get to see it. Glad to hear no one hurt. I can't imagine being in control of that (and not being in control of it...). I noticed slick spots and hydroplaned a little along the way... Fortunately there wasn't a lot of traffic.

Yeah the prob with fire trucks also is that they get all that water sloshing around inside and can cause weird occurrences with the center of gravity (of the truck). ->not the universe.

Well, the roads were nice and abandoned this morning on I-40 during my commute. It was so nice. However that means there's no one to hide behind when you are doing something bad. -Not that I would do ANYTHING that was illegal. (speeding is not illegal is it?)

It's good to be back. Let's get this thing going full speed again.

Cracker,
I'm so sorry you can't get out! I haven't had a lot of interest in getting out, but at least I could if I wanted to.... It's awful when you KNOW you can't get out!

Did your PVR come?

macca... thanks for your concern.... obviously I am keeping busy with the forum... Might even go to the mailbox tomorrow!  woo hoo!

My christmas present is still not here.... oops! Are we on Road Rage??  I'll tell you about my thingy over on MAAN.

Let me do some RR while I 'm here.... (See, I am doing the bama clean sweep just to see if I can)

Ok... I'll tell ya what causes me to fly into a rage while driving.....

Going to the drive thru with a passenger who doesn't know what they want! You  see, there is an ART to the drive thru.... you must list all entrees first, then sides, then drinks then desserts....

sort of like this....

"I'd like 1 whopper w/ cheese,a hamburger, a cheesburger, 4 pc. chicken tenders, 4 fries, 1 coffee, one water and 2 cokes."

This is the way the drive thru folks are programmed to take your order....

If you order the same thing like this because the order taker is ready and your passengers keep yelling out what they want:

"I'd like a whopper w/ cheese a fry and a coffee, A hamburger, a fry and a water, A cheeseburger, a fry and a coke. Oh and a 4 pc chicken tenders, a fry and a coke."

You have wasted time and you will be missing at least one fry and one drink from your order. I promise. The order taker can NOT process the information this way.

It's best to have your passengers visit:

www. Imtoostupidtoknowwhatsonthemenu.com before approaching a drive thru...

If by chance you are with a person who has never been to Burger King....Make them go inside to order!!!

When I was out at Wally World that day, I decided to whip thru Wendy's for a quick burger. I was sitting there behind this whomping vehicle when I realized I hadn't moved in a while, but figured there were just other hungry shoppers. Finally moved up a little. I knew exactly what I wanted (and could afford -- I forgot to bring cash and had found $1.37 in change, so was getting a double cheeseburger to hold off starvation). Anyway, the vehicle in front finally moved up to order.... and again sat there forever.... I still didn't think that much about it b/c I just figured there were lots of shoppers..... THEN, they moved up to the window to pay.... At this point I realized that they had handed the cashier money several times. THERE WERE AT LEAST 4 PEOPLE INSIDE -- EACH HAD ORDERED SEPARATELY AND THEY WERE NOW PAYING SEPARATELY! When I finally got to the window, I asked if it was going to take the folks in front of me as long to get their order and the woman just kind of went off on me, saying she had no control over those folks if they had an attitude, and something about "the dirty look," and how they acted was between them and their Lord. I don't know... I should've just asked for my money back and driven away. Anyway, while I'm sitting there waiting on my burger this guy comes outside with a tiny bag, goes to her and asks who it's for and then brings it to me. I thanked him, negotiated my way out of line and drove away, while the folks in the whomping vehicle were making sure they had their $100 worth of food. I truly don't know how they'd enforce it, but people with multiple orders shouldn't be allowed to go thru the drive-thru. It's supposed to be for express orders, just like at the bank! BTW, Crackah, Is there anything you don't know about? Where'd you learn about how to order at drive thrus? (Do you want fries with that?)

I think we will save the discussion of "Whompin'" vehicles for when bama gets back off the couch.... Sounds like a topic he'd love to address....

I have made it my mission in life to learn a little bit about a lot of things, so there are many topics that I can chat about.... Sports not withstanding.....ask bama

I have been perfecting my JUNK FOOD JUNKIE status for many years and yes macca I ALWAYS want fries with that!!!!

I like big whompin vehicles. Rush is right. SUV's dont kill. Their drivers do.

Drive thrus that make you pull forward of the window are dumb. The whole point of the drive thru is to get your food and then drive off. Not drive off and wait. If I wanted to wait, I would not be in the drive thru. Cook my food and then do something else. If I am sitting there ahead of the window and not slowing down your numbers/stats then you will be less likely to care how long it takes. Your numbers show that you already served me and I am not holding up the line because your employees forgot to cook a hamburger at the hamburger serving place.

Yep..that reminds me... I despise it when someone insists on grill ordering at the drive thru window...

I have this friend who can not eat anything the way it is normally served..... If we are at Chick Fil A... she's gotta have the sandwich with no pickle and no butter...(Who knew they even had butter on them?) If we are at Mickey D's, it's a big mac with no special sauce....You get my drift... So invariably we have to pull over to the grill order spot and wait for her food....

I do not fault the restaurant for this.... That's when I road rage at my friend...

I had a friend who ALWAYS ordered his burger/sandwich with some change. He insisted that this required them to cook it fresh instead of giving him one that had been sitting under the lights...

I order mine different but only b/c I dont eat the sauces. I like mine plain w/ cheese. They should have these things cooked anyway. Most places are great and you never know the difference. A few locations are like out back chasing your burger around a field for 5 minutes while you wait for a plain burger.
