bama! Your reputation as our editor is so strong that I re-read my entry (TWICE!) to see where I referred to the guy on the bike. I called him a "joker" and a "yahoo" but not a biker! I was ready to apologize for being such a dork! You were just making a point...

Skiddles, I love your dog!!

Here is what we will do.  I will knit a scarf for your dog and then everyone will be so distracted by it's beauty that they will never question the seatbelt.  It might take me until the summer to figure out how to get the dog to wear it, bt I will start knitting today.

Now I have some bad news.  I am so embarrassed I was the cause of road rage today.  I am guilty.  I was pulling out on to Battleground from Brassfield.  There was a line of traffic, in one lane only, but I definately had time to get out.  Car choking and all.  There was nothing in the second lane.  I pulled out into the first lane, and thought I would be polite and move over just incase my car wouldn't go fast enough.  I started to move over and this car came out of nowhere, must have been doing about 65 or 70mph.  The reason I didn't see him was because my vision was blocked by the line of traffic in the lane closest to me.  The guy blasted the horn and I used the sling shot method that Crackah taught us and got back into my lane.  My son was with me so I couldn't cuss or visually let the guy know how I felt.  He passed and I could see a look of discust on his face, I yelled at him, like he could hear me and said "THE SPEED LIMIT IS NOT 90!!!!!"  He didn't hear me.  Totally my fault. I deserved the salute.  He didn't do that thank goodness.  After I settled down, my heart was racing, all I could think was I hope that was not anyone from the road rage page.

OK all of you can feel free to slap me in the back of the head.  I am one of them.

Bama~~got my beer and wine last night.  Gotta be prepared in the event that you can't make it to Food Dog.  I even picked up a pack of smokes just in case I had any deer drop by.

Macca~~Everything still OK with the nephew?

Holy Cow! You called it Food Dog! Awesome! I used to work there and we called it Food Kitty, Food Dog, etc. I thought it was just my coworkers. Well I worked at Fleming location.

Oh and .. look at what was heading for my house. Its actually about 2 houses down but the pic was taken from my porch. So therefore without friction, it would have came right at my house.

notice the skid marks in the background through the peoples' yards. I feel bad for the chick though. From 2 houses down she looked like a nice girl. Just unfortunate.

let me know if anyone can see that.

Bama,

You don't even have to leave the house to gather great stuff to add to the RR page.  Wow, be careful on that porch.  I can see the pic, are the skid marks right above the jeep, those black spots?

I guess this is good example for all that 4 wheel drive only means 4 wheels spinning instead of two.  Stay in peeps.

Hope she is OK!!

I've been out for hours today. There are some slippery spots .. stay in if you don't have to go anywhere!

I got your jeep picture - OMG, I guess she couldn't make the turn and kept going straight. Glad she didn't come visit you on the porch bama! But.. if she did, it sounds like you had all the necessary beverages for a merry visit.

OK, off again to slip and slide down the road. :? Very slowly and very carefully!

The speed limit is posted to protect our children who attend the middle and high schools.  If those of us who drive on NW School Rd want to remain ticket free, we better get the message posted.  I just believe that many of us tend to be selfish and disrespectful toward others and only think of ourselves.  There is so much we can do personally to make the traffic situation on NW Sch Rd better, but no, we can only see what we can get out of it all.  We are truly selfish people, and we wonder why our children treat us the way they do.  They see and do as we do.

Smile love ya all,

Welcome, gottobeme, you make a strong point that our youth learn by example.  I've  been raggin' on my teenager for driving too fast on Strawberry Road, the other day it was "Dad, you're driving faster than I was when you fussed at me the other day"  :?

I gave you some mana on your very first posting.

Without trying to preach, it is mentioned in the bible that "children are like arrows", we are to point them in the direction they should go.  Many time I see youth behaving identically the way their parents do.  There are occassions when the tides turn and they are nothing like you or I.

I also see the "hands-off" kind of relationship with parents and youth, where their is little control or consequenses for behavior that could result in serious injury.  I ask myself this question;  will I be able to live with the results?  I truly believe we need to pay attention.

Another issue is the drugs and alcohol incidents at NW High School.  I hear about them all the time.  What is going on?  I hear about parties that are wild and out of control....even sponsored by parents.  Dont they know this type of behavior carry a great weight and could result in a child's death?  But they continue.  We have a problem and have not even turned a cheek to notice.

Just food for thought

Whoa whoa! too many serious words in one post. yikes. I appreciate your candor and all but whoa. haha just kidding. The things you mention are very serious. its just unusual to see in this thread. Anyway, no incidents to report today. I made it all the way to where I was going without having to get on here and rant. Well, except that I did prevent a slingshotter this morning. She had no chance anyway but I like to tell myself I prevented it. haha.

P.S. Sorry I couldnt get the jeep pic to appear on the page. I know some of you are somewhat leery about DL'ing stuff.

P.P.S. [a little tidbit I found while researching the spelling of leery] People sometimes write “weary” (tired) when they mean “wary” (cautious) which is a close synonym with “leery” which in the psychedelic era was often misspelled “leary"; but since Timothy Leary faded from public consciousness, the correct spelling has prevailed.      -from http://www.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/wary.html

Hey bama,

As I was going to work this morning, everybody was going along nice and easy when this bonehead in a big pickup truck came flying around us. As he went into the curve and hit a slick spot (of which there were many), his rear end wobbled quite a bit before he regained control. I caught a glimpse of his expression in his mirror. It was that look of certain and impending doom the Vietnam vets used to call the "Cosmic Consciousness." He settled down real quick like after that episode and behaved himself the rest of the way.

I heard on WGHP that there was an overturned car on Lake Brandt and Wittty Rd. this morning. Not sure of any details.

That look had to have been priceless [insert mastercard commercial here]. I am sure we are ALL glad you were able to witness it. I can only picture it in my mind but it still brings a chuckle. I never heard about the overturned car. Maybe someone caught a pic of it from their front porch. I had more important things on my radio (two guys named chris).

They are already calling for something on Sunday so you all know what that means. It means that it will be sunny and nice and absolutely nothing will happen. If I was wrong at my job as much as the weather people were wrong at theirs, I would have been fired long ago. As for you believers out there- run screaming wildly to the grocery store for your precious bread and milk.
