Yea, well, I've never seen the moon in the mornings when Jane reports on it, but it doesn't stop those "scuba moon reports" from comin'! :D

Hi Vickie,

When I first joined I was trying my hand at the options available in the setup. I couldn't find a kitty cat, that little blue butterfly was calling my name..... <grin>

Word of the year: Truthiness
Dec. 10, 2006. 09:14 AM

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) — After 12 months of naked partisanship on Capitol Hill, on cable TV and in the blogosphere, the word of the year for 2006 is ... "truthiness."
The word — if one can call it that — best summed up 2006, according to an online survey by dictionary publisher Merriam-Webster.
"Truthiness" was credited to Comedy Central satirist Stephen Colbert, who defined it as "truth that comes from the gut, not books."
"We're at a point where what constitutes truth is a question on a lot of people's minds, and truth has become up for grabs," said Merriam-Webster president John Morse. "`Truthiness' is a playful way for us to think about a very important issue."
Other Top 10 finishers included "war," "insurgent," ``sectarian" and "corruption." But "truthiness" won by a 5-to-1 margin, Morse said.
Colbert, who once derided the folks at Springfield-based Merriam-Webster as the "word police" and a bunch of ``wordinistas," was pleased.
"Though I'm no fan of reference books and their fact-based agendas, I am a fan of anyone who chooses to honour me," he said in an e-mail to The Associated Press.
"And what an honour," he said. "Truthiness now joins the lexicographical pantheon with words like `squash,' `merry,' `crumpet,' `the,' `xylophone,' `circuitous,' `others' and others."
Colbert first uttered "truthiness" during an October 2005 broadcast of "The Colbert Report," his parody of combative, conservative talk shows.

I have a quick question for one of the Summerfield Forum Friends: Doesn't Summerfield put out Chrismon lights along Summerfield Road one night during the Holidays? It seems like I remember ya'll doing that at least up near the Town Hall. Would someone please refresh my memory and provide any details of which you might be aware.

I hope I am using the right terminology when I refer to Chrismon lights. What I am talking about are the white bags with candles in them.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

I'll explain later why I am asking.

Jim, Elmhurst Estates used to do this the week before Christmas. But was not done last year (I don't know why) and nobody has contacted us about doing it this year either.

Macca you did na excellent job with the weather report until you said you hadn't been out side.

Unfortunately Scuba Jane will have to turn in her walking shoes and her flippers. Tried to play Peter Pan again and fell down 3 steps at the beach and fractured my left foot which doesn't hurt nearly as bad as my right foot which is sprained. Will have to go tomorrow and get a cast or maybe a fracture boot for a month. So Macca you may have to keep giving weather reports.  Just hope I don't break somethink else trying to walk on crutchers.
