We only have a few more weeks until the grant has to be done or we will sit around for another year with no matching funding.
Jane is correct.
We need folks to show up en masse, and sign up to speak favorably for the park. We want a vocal majority to out number and out speak the vocal minority. We want the positive speakers to wear out SMSandra's keyboard, and wear off her fingerprints with positive comments.
Let the council know you support the park, want to see it completed, and (gasp) are delighted for your tax dollars to support it. Don't be shy......SPEAK OUT !!!!!!!!!

Hey guys.. I have a friend in Spartanburg that recently found out her daughter has brain tumors... here is a link to her caring bridge webpage: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/victoriapatterson
Also a quote from the page...
"Victoria is 9 years old and has been diagnosed with Glioma. She has 2 brain tumors, one of which is on her brain stem. They are inoperable. However, Victoria is very upbeat about everything and reminds her family constantly to "not worry". She knows that God is watching over her and will take care of her. "
These are good Christian foks that have every hope Victoria will recover, but I do believe prayer requests are in order.
Also, we can offer up a word for Scuba Jane & her poor feet! Sorry to hear your news Jane! Hope you feel better soon.

Good morning, everyone!!!
I just realized I never posted yesterday!!! I did read what y'all wrote, just didn't write anything myself!!! Guess that makes me a "lurker"!!!
Enjoyed what I read, though.... Jimbo! Thanks for the link to your Fox8 spot. Where will you be signing autographs??? Think you could just send 'em thru our little cupholder thingys?
Caught you at the end of the newscast last night, too! Too bad they cut it off, but at least we could see the whole thing on the web site. ♥♥♥

Mawnin', y'all. Pappy's ready to win the lottery. Got my acceptance speech all ready.
Much obliged to all the little dollars that made this possible. I'll never forget you, George an' Abe. An' to my new friends, Salmon P. Chase on the $10,000 bill, an' Woodrow Wilson on the $100,000 bill, I say, "Welcome home, boys!"

Thanks Macca. No cast just one of those big heavy fracture boots but I can take it off to shower so that is nice. I am hoping I can get to the meeting tonight. Everything takes 3 times as long and so I don't know at this point. My fractured foot feels fine but the right foot still hurts and aches like crazy and carrying the full weight is not helping. I am getting better at swirling around on my desk chair in the house which is a little faster but then the crutches are in the other room when I stop. Nurses make terrible patients and I am terrible.

I just received this in the many e-mails I get every day (most of which I have no interest in).
I thought some of you (i.e., that means you macca) might be interested. (PS - emphasis added)
The UNC-Ch graduation ceremonies will be held on Dec. 17. "In this year's commencement address Dr. Holden Thorp, Kenan professor of chemistry and chair of the department, is expected to offer words of wisdom through insightful reflections on the Beatles, and what they have in common with Thomas Jefferson, Mia Hamm and a few other historical figures."

Now, now... just let it be... let it be.... let it beeeeeeee.....
::ducking::
I've been playing Mr. Mom, this week, to my 12-year old son and two daughters, ages 3 and 2. My wife, 8-year old daughter and new 5-year old son are now on their way back from China (we adopted our 3-year old, who was 2 at the time, from China last year).
I stayed with them for a week, but came back early to rescue my kids from my mother-in-law... or is that the other way around?

Let's see.... I counted about 23 kids... Right???
Just kidding ya Aeolius! Heartfelt Congrats on the new addition to your family!!!! Be sure to keep us updated on his progress in the good ol' USofA!
I'm sure it will be interesting to see the differences in adopting a 2 year old vs. a 5 year old. Sounds like they are both very lucky children.
BTW... that house that went up across the street from you is a real beauty!
