Looks like it's gonna be a purty day fer a parade!

Mr Jim, I wonder if the Boy Scouts survived? Them pigs prob'ly got the better end o' the deal last night; at least they kept warm.

Pappy it do indeed seems like the Boy Scouts (and their leaders) made it through then night alive, which is more than we can say for the pigs. I just drove through downtown Stokesdale and saw a bunch of Baptists out near the Boy Scouts. But they wasn't givin' no last rites.....Nosiree Bob, they seemed to be chowing down on biscuits and coffee. Didn't see no frozen Boy Scouts and no half full jugs of Pappy's egg nog either!

Musta been a nice FREEZING COLD party last night and I shore am glad I missed it.

For those of you who missed the Stokesdale Christmas Parade, you'uns missed a good one. Lots of folks spectating, nice fairly warm sunny afternoon, bands & floats & cars & fire trucks & Santa Claus & lots of candy thrown out for the young'uns.

In fact, Patti Stokes threw some nice candy to an oversized young'un standing next to the guy who was standing next to me. Thanks Patti!

Pappy your egg nog sure was a hit too although most folks had it all invisible like in their Dixie Cups so as not to corrupt the youth in the community. Hope everyone has had an enjoyable wonderful Hollydays afternoon.

Well, doggone! Pappy had to work some while the parade was goin' on, but I'm lookin' at some video footage right now. Now that's what I call a parade! Sounds like ever'body had a good time!

Congratulations to them SYC young'uns! Yee Haw!

Mr Jim an' Macca, y'all be keerful puttin' the "recipe" in a Dixie cup, now. It'll eat a hole in it if you keep it in thar too long.

It was a GREAT parade!!!!!   I was there, and I looked for Vicki and Jim, but I didn't see them anywhere :(.  My friends and I were standing in that field near Subway.

I've never seen so much candy!  I'm addin' it all to my Halloween stash and if I ration it carefully, it might just hold me 'til Founder's Day :D!

Thanks Stokesdale for a wonderful parade and a fabulous time!!!!

Macca (and Crackah) I was looking for ya'll too. I was standing over right near the left front of the Fire Department hobnobbing with the Stokesdale Fire Chief, Todd Gauldin and our former Mayor, Jesse Joyce.

You're right about the candy.....I hain't never seen so much. Most of them youngun's went home with their pockets full. I heard that Vicki was between the Fire Station and the Subway but didn't see her.

Did see lots of other folks though, including all the lovely gals from the NWO and the SYC, who deserve congratulations for winning the Best Float award.

Maybe next year we can have a NWO Forum Friends Eggnog Float!

What a nice parade and a Big Round of Applause for Chairwoman Vicki and her parade committee for another outstanding parade!

Pappy, if you watch your video and see some oversized young'un down near the Fire Department snatching candy outta the street that was not me. He did resemble someone here on the Forum but for the life of my, I can't put a finger on a name. I did however try to do my civic duty and help the Sanitation Department clean up any of the debris thrown into the street but tha's different.

I also wish you had told us about those Dixie Cups earlier. Your eggnog not only ate a hole in the cup it was eating a hole in the street when we left. Powerful stuff it is! Might not stop eating holes 'til it gits to China........One thang is fer sure, none of us is goin' to hafta worry about gitin' worms!

I didn't get down to the fire station Jim.  By the time I got there and found a good watchin' spot, I was hesitant to give it up!!!  Sorry I missed seein' you!

Ditto on the cheers (NOT Dixie cup cheers fellas!) to Vicki and her committee for pullin' off a wonderful parade!!!

BTW.... It seemed lots colder in Summerfield than it did in Stokesdale!

I am so glad everyone had such a good time at the parade!!:D

We have a nice little committee.... Robin Gauldin, Linda Gourley, Juanita Southern, Diane Biganowski, Sam Pegram, Mark Brown, Annette Joyce, Melinda Moore, Brenda Holt... and last but not least -- our town clerk, Carolyn Joyner!

We also get help from the Sheriff's Department and the Stokesdale Fire Department....

The weather was great, all the people in the parade were in good spirits, and we had a great time!!

I was able to get everyone lined up, tell them what they needed to do when they reached the point where streets merged in the lineup, and then I was able to go and watch the parade and take pictures! I usually end up missing the first part, but I got to see it start to finish today!! Pace seemed pretty good (no large gaps).

Congratulations to the SYC! No wonder our judges gave you the blue ribbon! Good work on that float!

Oh, yeah! Our judges are Betty Pearman and Kathy Gauldin. They've judged all three years we've done that. The first year they were joined by Kathy's sister, Dottie Jones.....

I'm pooped! Glad everyone had a good time! Sorry I missed Jim and Cracker Jax..... I ended up in front of the fire station, across from Sadie's.

Everyone who is so inclined can join our committee for a followup meeting in January.... Just let me know you want to be included. And of course, we can always use more help!!!

Good morning!!! It's cold but clear this morning, leaves crunching under your feet.

(Okay, I admit it -- I'm just guessing at this!! I haven't been out yet! I'm just lookin' out the window, trying to do a good impression of Jane! I just remembered she took off to the beach!):D

I do know there's a chill in my house, so it must be pretty darned cold outside!!

Hope everyone has a great day!! ♥♥♥

Mawnin'!

That was a good report, Macca. I don't think anybody but Jane would know the differ'nce anyway. Pappy an' his toes are stayin' inside fer the moment.

Who's goin' shoppin' today? I might go shoppin' at Biscuitville in a few minutes, but that's about it.

Good mornin'!!!

I'm not shoppin' today Pappy.  Scuba Jane's gone and there's nobody around to fling my paper up to the house so I don't know what's on sale anyway.

I reckon I'll hang around outside and put up a bow or something.  I'm so far behind!!!

Macca.... it was a great report, but you forgot to mention the moon.  Jane always mentions the moon!  :D
