Mornin' all.

Pappy's been settin' on the Texas deck watchin' the sun come up. As a non-votin', ex-officio member, I heartily approved the sunrise process, although my opinion was not bindin'. A quorum o' songbirds an' one rabbit also approved the process an' furthermore voted to approve the recommendation to have another sunrise tomorry.

The vote was not unanimous however. A protester on hand, one o' the shade-lovin' flowers, said the birds an' even the rabbit have a sizable stake in the game, an' their opinions should not count, since they obviously have ulterior motives. Furthermore, the sunrise they all think so much of, would turn on 'em later an' dry up the water hole.

A debate ensued, in which the protester claimed that the darkness is an equal but opposite force with the light an' should be respected as such. Myths about critters fearin' the darkness were just that, myths. The darkness is cool an' soothin'.

The mockin'bird disagreed, pointin' out that darkness has no real power, but is merely the absence of light and can only "exist" by blocking the light. The darkness only keeps critters from seein' proper an' they end up trippin' over their young'un's bicycles. Furthermore, he challenged the darkness to make photosynthesis occur and actually cause somethin' to grow.

It was startin' to get interestin', but Pappy didn't stay fer the rest o' the meetin'. I went in the kitchen fer some light biscuits an' dark coffee! Hee hee!

I happened upon this story on the Internet last night, and found it not only interesting, but absolutely fascinating. It is presented as testimony to humility and as tribute to the underdogs of the world by the Graham family.

Inmate built Ruth and Billy Grahams' coffins

NEW ORLEANS --
One of the most meaningful events of his life came near the end, when convicted murdered Richard Liggett was asked to make two of the simple plywood coffins he meticulously crafted for fellow prisoners for evangelists Ruth and Billy Graham.

"Humbled? He was honored, he was honored," Burl Cain, the warden of the Louisiana State Penitentiary, said Saturday. " ... He told me, of everything that ever happened in his life, the most profound thing was to build this coffin for Billy Graham and his family."

Franklin Graham made the request after seeing the birch plywood coffins on a visit to the Angola prison and was struck by their spareness, according to a statement from the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.

The coffins inmates build are made of birch plywood, lined with a foam mattress pad covered with fabric from comforters bought at Wal-Mart, Cain said. On the sides are brass handles; on top, a cross.

I fergot to say Happy Pappy's Day to all you Pappies out yonder!

Pappy's day fer me is really about Mammy an' the young'uns. Pappy wouldn't be Pappy without Mammy an' the young'uns.

Young'uns, now, are some curious critters with strange an' paradoxical powers. They simultaneously keep you young an' make you old before your time. They make you poorer an' richer at the same time. They make you yearn fer some quiet time but make you miss it when it finally gets quiet. They stay up all night in the summertime so they don't get up early on Pappy's Day to go to Biscuitville to get their poor ol' starvin' Pappy a biscuit.

Morning All!! My morning started out early but has been busy. The outside dog decided at 5:30 to be an inside dog so stood at the bedroom door and whined until spouse got up and let him in. I survived that and went sort of back to sleep until 30 minutes later the inside dogs decided they needed to be outside. Gave up ... Got up and went out to let the chickens out along with the guineas. The guineas normally with a little encouragement go outside the chicken fence but this morning they wouldn't leave but several of the inside chickens got out. There does seem to be a theme here doesn't there. So I gave up and came in and read the paper. Ryan Seals has a really nice tribute to his father in the Hometown section along with lots of stuff going on in the Northwest area.

Now I am baking a cake. Was suppose to do it yesterday for the picnic today but didn't get done so am baking now. I will have to go to the grocery store for some ingredients for icing so am off to do that now.

Everybody have a great Father's day.

Happy Fathers Day to the appropriate people!!

Morning All!! Macca did you get the slice of cake. It was a little messy pushing it through the disk tray but I figured you would understand.

It is Monday. Everybody have a good day today.
