I'm hoping that indeed Paris has discovered a relationship with Jesus and the proof will be not in her words, but in her actions in the days ahead. Often times, the challenges and obstacles in our paths lead us to new understandings of what truly is important in this world. While Paris no doubt has received great notoriety for her mistakes and sins due to her public profile, there are none of us without sin and error. Some of us just didn't or haven't been caught!
God has a plan for each of us and for our lives if we will only listen and heed with an open heart. Perhaps in the loneliness of that jail cell, Paris realized that alcohol, sex, drugs and all the material things and parties in the world will not and have not brought her peace that passeth all understanding. Perhaps finally she was open to our Lord's message and mission for her.
Just imagine the positive impact Paris could make and the difference in so many especially younger lives if she elects henceforth to live on a more meaningful path with a higher power toward more spiritual means for good. Let's all keep our fingers crossed as we keep her soul in our prayers.

Keep the faith, Jimbo! I must admit to a bit of skepticism about the old gal's conversion.....

Tee Hee Pappy!!! That one's a cutie!
Might have to use that little guy from time to time......
Makes me think about the good old days of MAAN I when I needed a wiggly eyed smiley because the stock smileys just weren't good enough. Then ol' Bama swooped in and taught us the art of the smiley.... Those were the days....

So I was fixing dinner tonight and the news was on..... I was half listening to a story about some restaurant somewhere called "The Southern Lunch" that had burned down........
It was evidently a very popular spot because they were interviewing a bunch of hungry lookin' folks who were very sad about the loss.
One older gentleman was in tears... At first I thought he was an owner or something, but I'm not sure....He could have just been a loyal patron. ANyway, he was in tears and was talking about the loss of such a fine establishment that meant so much to the community..... This man was really crying... hard. That's ok... It meant a lot to him evidently...
So he goes on to tell about these photos that were hanging in the restaurant.... Irreplacable photos and then started really blubbering while he was crying... he said these photos were signed by Dale Earnhardt!
Couldn't help it. I giggled. I know fires are serious business, and it's sickening to lose any building to such an event..... and I am aware that there will be no more signed Big E photos, and I REALLY apologize if any of you frequent that place or know the guy, but I was thinkin' to myself... are we really putting this in perspective????
At least no lives were lost right???
All those #3 fans are really gonna be mad at me. Sorry.

It was located in Davidson County, maybe near Lexington?
Established in 1925 by relatives of the man who owns it now..... I didn't hear the report you did, although I was out during part of the 6 o'clock news.....
Yes, I'm sure there will be Earnhardt fans (NO ONE calls him "Big E"!) upset with you!! The paintings likely are priceless, especially to the owner, but you're right..... Put it all in perspective!

Lightning Strike Fuels Fire That Destroys Landmark Restaurant
Lexington, NC -- A lightning strike destroyed a Lexington landmark.
It started a fire in a restaurant that served breakfast, lunch and dinner for 82-years.
Here is a link to the rest of the story on WFMY including video and photos. Supposedly the loss included signed Bob Timberlake art and numerous other signed memorabilia as well as signed Earnhardt photos:

An additional story from today's Lexington Dispatch reports:
Storm causes severe damage.
Southern Lunch is extensively burned.

Crackah! I saw what must have been a portion of that video you were talking about where the man was so upset about the photo.... It said he was a member of the family that owned the restaurant, so my guess is he was just generally distraught over the loss....

Mornin' all. That's a shame 'bout that restaurant. Reminds me of the time one o' the young'uns had one o' them things that shoot the little whirlygig spinner things up in the air. I don't know what you call it. I thnk it's based on alien technology. Anyway, another young'un got aholt of it an' shot one o' the whirlygigs up on top o' somethin' where they couldn't get at it. I'm tellin' you, the loss o' that whirlygig to that young'un at that time was a more devastatin' loss than if the TV had exploded in the middle of a favorite show. You just never think it will happen to you...
Macca's back, but now Jane's wandered off.
