What a lovely idea Rev... I don't know if such a system is in place... Perhaps you could ask Anna to find out ... over on the Ask a student forum.
As for magazines, I don't know of a specific need for them, but others may. I do know that the Library (Benjamin Branch) used to accept used mags and put them out in the lobby for folks to take. I always enjoyed browsing through those stacks....

This is taken from the NWHS website - the media center section. Their phone number is 605-2085 - Natalie Reid and Jenny Shepherd are the media specialists. Hope that helps!
Can I donate books to the Media Center?
Yes. Books in good condition meeting our collection development guidelines are welcome additions to our Media Center collection. Please call the Media Center for more information. Donated books can have book plates noting the donor or can be donated in honor of another person.

Kris, Thank you so much for providing this information. I will follow up with the media center to see if I can help them with donations.
This might be an item of interest for the larger general public which Patti and the NWO would also want to address in a future issue of the NWO to also help our schools.

Revpast, Stokesdale Elementary School has a Literacy Library and has been accepting books for the past few years. Of course, what they use in the Literacy Library are children's books, but they are able to exchange other books they get for credit at Edward McKay's. They then use that credit are able to get children's books with. Last edited on Jan 27th, 2006 01:40 pm by Vicki White-Lawrence

Just trying to stay out of trouble with Steve so moved from parks forum to here. They( the bloggers who were coming dangerously close to being OFF TOPIC) mentioned the parks in Savannah. I was amazed at how many people who didn't seem to be tourists were walking, lunching, strolling babies, etc. Even saw a family playing checkers. It was right there near Forrest Gump's bench, too! What a classy town, pairing fast-paced downtown with relaxing green spaces.

Savannah is one of my favorite places. "Greene Square" is where Gen. Nathanial Greene (Greensboro) is enjoying his eternal stay. Heard he held an umbrella over his head because of the sun and heat. Yep, it sure can get a bit sticky down those parts. The museum has the Forrest Gump beach, Starcatchr..... I sure love that movie. Staying on topic here Steve, no need for signs.

"OK, Jerry. Are you a firetruck?"
"No."

Thank You.
I watched, although not as attentively as I used to. It's a tradition with me, but every year I know less and less about the movies.... The only nominee I saw this year was "Good Night and Good Luck," although I did see "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," which was nominated for some awards (costumes, for one, although it didn't win -- "Geisha" did).
