CRACKAH!!! Glad you got to see it!!! I don't think the movie is as good as the book either, but am glad I saw it. Found a good used bookstore at the beach and bought the prequel to Da Vinci but haven't started it yet. Says it is the first Robert Langdon adventure....♥♥♥

Is that the Angels and Something book Macca?
Now was this PREQUEL actually written BEFORE the DVCode???? OR... was it the sequel written as a prequel??? Arrrrggggh!
I gotta tell ya, I don't like for my books/tv/movies to be presented out of order. 1st should be first, 2nd second etc.
I'm still not sure if Luke is Yoda's dad or father of Darth and C3PO or whatever..... What a mess that was!

Saw Cars today.
It was a little slow in places but I thought it was cute. Lots of funny one-liners.

I have just finished reading the best book I have read in years. It is "1491" and covered the America's pre Columbus. It is a truly amazing book that makes want to take up archeology immediately. Pretty much debunks everything we learned in school about the Maysn's, North american indians, Aleuts. If you have ever been to Chitzanitza (spelling isn't right) out side of Cancun and were fascinated by what you saw as I was you will just love this book. The author first bacame interested in the subject at Chitzanitza. I found my book at Amazon.com. Heard the author interviewed on NPR and wanted to learn more.

Robert, Sophie and Sir Leigh are fleeing the estate with the keystone. Off to the lanai to see where they go next!

Here's somethin' I found fascinatin'. The eccentric genius inventor Nikola Tesla was good friends with Mark Twain. I just find that fascinatin' fer some reason. You hear about all these kinds o' people, but it's mostly about what they did as individuals. You forget they lived an' breathed among other people.
Tesla, by the way, figgered out, among other things, how to transmit electricity many miles without wires. He was workin' on a "death ray" at one point in the early 20th Century that he thought would make the Czar an' other crazies behave. Dang, Tesla, that trick never works.
But anyway, Twain an' Tesla would hang out together from time to time, each fascinated by the other's genius. Some o' the other people they crossed paths with at social functions were Teddy Roosevelt, John Muir an' Rudyard Kipling.

As a matter of fact, as Tesla was dyin', he thought Mark Twain was there in the room with him talkin' to him. Twain had been dead for many years at that point, but Tesla was adamant about Twain bein' there.

I know a couple of non-geniuses who have that same attraction Pappy......
Thanks for the education. Haven't heard of Tesla before.

I'm just now reading the book 1491, thanks to Jane. What a fascinating read! Sure does a job of reminding us of what we don't know about our history. If you don't want to buy it, check it out at the Greensboro Public Library. I think the Kernersville Library has it , too. The only drawback is that it is a two week check-out right now and I've found that I want to do a little research as I read.

Starcatchr I read in the Wilmington paper today that they have discovered the Stonehenge of South America in Brazil. They believe the site to be 2,000 years old and belonging to a very intelligent culture.

These lost cultures are popping up like flies now! With all the new technology, who knows what we will find. We might even catch up one day to these ancients. By the way, my Honey says that Amapa sounds like it could be a family name on my side. It fits right in with my relatives Wee, Orton, Ab, and Thera Lu

CRACKAH! I kept meaning to respond to this but kept forgetting!!! Sorry!!! Angels and Demons was written in 2000 and DaVinci Code in 2003. Robert Langdon recalls the time he spent in Rome with Vittoria Vetra near the beginning of DaVinci, as he's walking thru the Louvre, I think. This seems like a kind of blueprint for Davinci to me. Vittoria's father is killed and they must follow clues to keep 4 cardinals, one of whom would be named pope b/c the pope has just died, from being killed at prominent places around Rome. They also need to keep an anti-matter device from destroying the Vatican..... I'm still reading it -- haven't been able to make time for it the way I was the first..... I also bought Holy Blood, Holy Grail but haven't had a chance to read it yet. Will keep you posted!! Has anyone else read any of these?♥♥♥

I believe that would be Viney and Mausey. Seems I remember that Mausey came to Summerfield a few years back and took up with some relatives.
