Have at it Pappy.... Here are the letters....C-R-A-C-K-E-R-J-A-X.  Good luck!

:P

ACE-RR-K-JAC-X

Why, Crackah, what you go there is the winnin' hand-- a royal flush! (ace, king, queen, jack, 10)

ACE= ACE, of course

RR= Roy Rogers, KING of the cowboys

K= abbreviation for krona, a Swedish coin, from the Latin for crown, and since we've already used king in the series, it must mean QUEEN!

JAC= pronounced JACK

X= Roman numeral TEN

To add creedence to Pappy's winnin' hand interpretation, Roy Rogers was a Freemason!

Rogers, Roy (Leonard Franklin Slye) - "King of the Cowboys". American singer and actor who played a singing cowboy in motion picture Westerns. Always wearing the white hat, Rogers played the hero who never killed his opponent but rather would shoot him in the HAND to wound him. On his grave is proudly displayed the Cross of his faith and his 33rd Degree Masonic emblem.

FACT:
Pappy's feisty ol' coot AVATAR is off-duty for sprang break, supposedly in Mexico.

FACT:
News reports mention off-duty police officers, possibly members of AVATAR, an Australian police anti-biker task force, were involved in a bar fight with outlaw bikers Down Under.
http://www.news.com.au/story/0,10117,18896635-1246,00.html

CONCLUSION:
Pappy's avatar is either runnin' from the law, or runnin' from outlaw bikers, or both, dependin' on which side he was on durin' the fight, if any.

Well... I'm not one to knock someone else's religion you know so I have to be careful here... It was on CBS this morning and I just happened to be standing at the coffee maker when it came on or I would have alerted you for sure.  They showed clips of Silas in the new DVC movie and he's certainly gonna be a scary sort.

Then they go on to describe Opus Dei and explain that there are two levels of this religion.... Numeraries and Supernumeraries.... Numeraries are like Silas.. the ones who live a celibate life and devote everything to god.  They made it sound like a monk or a nun..... Didn't go into the differences there though.

The Supernumeraries are "normal" people who live with their families and just do God's work supposedly.

I'm thinking at this point of the report that the Opus Dei DID get a raw deal in the DVC book and the facts weren't reported accurately.

THEN.... they showed the chalice (an evil little thorny contraption) and the whip thing (looked like a mini cat-o-nine tails with knots on the end of each rope) that is ACTUALLY used by the REAL numeraries on a daily basis, however they said that the book was wrong because they only whip themselves for as long as it takes to say the lord's prayer. :shock:

ok... here's where I'd get in trouble if I kept on typalking so I'll stop now.  I think we'll be hearing more about this religion when as they prepare for the movie's release.... If you hear anything is coming on Dateline or something, let me know macca....

CRACKAH! I had the CBS Morning Show on but I guess I was making breakfast and didn't pay close enough attention, 'cause I flat missed that part of the show! I saw the "60 Minutes" thing on the Priory of Sion -- interesting. It says all of the info about it was made up by a guy who wanted to validate a group he wanted to organize.....

When you mentioned "chalice" in your posting, did you mean "cilice"? That was the belt Silas had around his thigh to cause pain.

Looking forward to more discussion of all the theories, and can't wait to see the movie!!!♥♥♥

Yea... whatever macca...:D

You know if I don't have the book in front of me I'm liable to mutilate any of those spellings.... That's what I meant though.

Glad I have you for my spell checker!

I guess a thorny chalice would be hard to drink out of wouldn't it??? ;)

You KNOW I had to look it up! I knew it wasn't "chalice" but I couldn't remember exactly what it was. I keep my copy of the book nearby though as these stories are on so I can look things up. There are also games to play on various web sites, so it comes in handy.... Getting kind of worn now! ♥♥♥

I SAW IT!

The DaVinci Code!

Finally!

I doubt those of you who didn't read the book understood what the big deal is when you saw the movie.  I thought the movie was good, but not GOOD like the book was.

So I took this friend of mine (a friend who's a theater sleeper) thinking I'd get another perspective from someone who hadn't read the book.  About 10 minutes into the movie I look over and he's snoring!  I just kept watching and munching.  At the end he said, "I didn't get it!"

I explained to him that this movie requires EYES OPENED to get it!!

Now I gotta see Cars.......
