Oh... and don't tell ♥♥♥ Macca ♥♥♥ but I'm not really a JD fan either EXCEPT for pirates and I liked him in Finding Neverland.... Even with Macca's explanations and all that true love flowing, I just can't see the "ART" in Edward Scissorhands......
Yes, let's not tell Macca.... It'll just be our little secret!♥♥♥
What about his role as Sam in Benny and Joon? Did you see him in Secret Garden? What about his role as Ichabod Crane? In Chocolat?
I even liked him in movies that were hard to watch... Blow, Once Upon a Time in Mexico, and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.
(It's okay, Crackah! You don't have to like him just 'cause I do!)♥♥♥

I loved Forrest Gump too, Kris! Tom Hanks is another of my favorite actors! ♥♥♥
Also loved Murphy Brown! So many great characters, Eldon one of the best!!♥♥♥
OK, if we're going for movie lines... This is from one of my favorite movies..... What is it??? "I'm ready for my close-up, Mr. DeMille." (I know -- it's s-o-o-o obvious! Sorry!) ♥♥♥

The thing I like about Johnny Depp is he doesn't stick to the same tired ol' routine. He's willin' to go out on a limb. He's really a very good actor.
By the way, the initials "JD" are reserved for John Deere. Is nothin' sacred?

I don't know, Pap! I was confused when I saw "JD" in the post.... I thought of that other famous John...... DILLINGER!!!♥♥♥
PS.... I totally agree with you about Johnny Depp! I think that's why I like him so much. I mean, people thought when he took the "Pirates" role that it was like admitting his career was in the toilet! And what did he do??? He made the role and the movie incredibly memorable! It's as though he's become a star on his own terms, just by choosing roles that seemed interesting to him without worrying about what ticket sales might be. ♥♥♥

I heard ol' Johnny went after that role purty hard because he could see the potential an' knew what he could do with it even if nobody else could an' ended up stealin' the show. That's the way to do it.
All them Hawaii pitchers reminds me of another ol' movie I like that I haven't seen in a while. Cary Grant's code name in it is "Mother Goose". ???

Did I even see these movies???? No, no, no, no, no, no, no! So maybe it isn't fair to say I am not a JD fan huh??? (Double entendre used there..... JD can stand for Johnny Dep OR John Deere! )

Why, Macca, that there sounds like "Sunset Booly-vard" with William Holden an' that lady I can't remember.
What famous movie featured zither music as the main soundtrack?

Pappy cain't remember nary movies starrin' John Deere, but I have seen "The Straight Story" starrin' Richard Farnsworth as a ol' coot who drives his John Deere cross country to see his ailin' brother.
A ol' coot an' his lawn mower...it's a beautiful thang.

Very good, Pappy! Gloria Swanson was her name. (Pretty scary looking as old Norma Desmond, though! Although she might have been all of 50 at the time! THAT is really scary!)
And I think yours was "Father Goose." Ol' Cary was a good 'un too! I LOVE those old movies!!!
Zither music???? The 3rd Man? (But I admit I googled it.... sorry!) "Father Goose" I kind of knew, but not the zither music..... Hey, at least I admitted it!!! ♥♥♥

I liked when Carol Burnett did the Gloria Swanson/Desmond impression.
That's all I can add to that conversation.
Father Goose??? Is that the man who flew with the geese or something?? I might have seen that! Didn't catch the zither muzak though.
