MESSAGE FROM CAR #537:
Ok.. I know it's a free country, but could you folks who are coming from 220 on Old OR Rd. and then turning LEFT at the Mega stoplight onto Summerfield Rd. in the morning between 7:30 and 8:00 am please consider going another way??? I'm sure you've noticed that the protected light only happens about once every 5 minutes and there's not even a slim chance that you are gonna get to turn with out it. The 723 cars lined up behind you wanting to turn right or go straight would really appreciate it.

<cough> <cough> <cough> <cough>
Goodness! No wonder I couldn't find this place! It was buried in April!!!!
Just read Vicki's "Watch out for Tractors" editorial. Good Job Vicki!
Most folks who've been around here a long time were as used to seeing tractors on the roads as they were to seeing cows in the pastures beside the road. Both are scarce nowadays.
Glad you pointed this out to folks who might not be used to it and you're watchin' out for our farm workers!!
Ya'll be careful! Watch out for Pappy rollin' along on his John Deere!

If anyone has ever wondered whether the statement "All Men Are Created Equal" is true or not, just take a trip to the DMV and you'll see that we are all treated with the same amount of courtesy....
Wait.... "courtesy" was not the right word.....

Well, my rage is not exactly "road;" it's more parking lot, and specifically at one apartment complex but I guess REALLY at the person/s who broke into my son's vehicle last night. Not only did they damage the ONLY thing that is really HIS, they stole from him his treasured music system. He used money he had saved for most of his life to choose exactly what he wanted... and now it's gone. He feels as though his car isn't his any more and says he doesn't plan to invest in the equipment again.
He had his car locked, parked in the parking lot of the apartment complex he has lived in for ONE MONTH.... He parked on the campus of UNC-G all of last year with no problem. It's not as though he has a new car -- It's 10 years old, but it looks pretty sporty and he takes care of it. Unlike my old clunker, which is the same age. I hide stuff when I park it, but I've (knock on wood) never had anyone break into any car I've owned.
Of course, the apartment managers offer nothing except advice to call the police and insurance company. Of course, we didn't carry comprehensive insurance on it, and the police department takes their report via the phone now... A deputy is supposed to call him...
In the meantime, we had to take the car to the repair shop we normally use because he couldn't leave it unprotected..... There was no window in the driver's door and the lock on that door and the trunk are damaged.
His car alarm was activated, but probably no one heard it because of the air conditioners and/or appliances running. Even if anyone had heard it, these folks were likely experts. It was likely at least 2 people, just because of the weight of the woofers and tweeters (or whatever they were) in the trunk.
There's one pawn shop in Greensboro that takes car systems....
Don't you just love it? I just hate it for my son. It's a hard lesson to learn at any age, emotionally as well as financially. At least it was just "stuff" and he's okay, physically at least.

Omigosh, Vicki! I'm so sorry for your son! I can't imagine... I just don't get why some people do what they do....
