I thought it was funny how everyone would slam on brakes and try to cause an accident day after day over that stupid thing. For now I will take Pleasant Ridge Rd and Carlson Dairy to avoid all the traffic. I can't wait until that Harris Teeter opens up. They are so FRIENDLY.

YEAH! And that wonderful new apartment complex should really keep congestion in check!
It will be a REAL relief to go into the most expensive grocery store in Greensboro and see all those happy people! It'll just be a perfect world.

Well, don't go thru there today! Goodness gracious! Traffic was backed all the way up to the Center for Creative Leadership..... Throw that school traffic in the mix and what a mess! I'll be glad when the ampiteeter opens too!

You would think with a 5 million dollar Ampiteeter they could put in better turning lanes .........

A few years ago I heard that they were supposed to start widening hwy 220 in 2009, I think. When the 300 apartments & the AmpiTeeter open up, I will make sure to avoid hwy 220 during the "rush hours." That would be the smart thing to do.

Pappy brought these news items over from MAAN, since they both are about road and rage.
First, they say the McCoys, of Hatfield/McCoy fuedin' fame, have been sufferin' fer years with some disease that makes 'em mean an' short-tempered. I wonder if they just went with that theory 'cause none o' the researchers were left to dispute it.
Second, a national study ranks worst drivers by city, with (surprise!) Greensboro, North Carolina comin' in at third worst in the country, behind Columbia, SC, and St. Looie. Sorry, bama, they didn't mention Stokesdale.

I saw that driving study too, Pappy. Used data about seatbelt usage, accident rates, etc. I think I even saw something about turn signals... If that's the case, surely some of our area drivers were caught on that one while driving in Greensboro.
Wonder if there's a study about telepathy, and the rest of us just haven't gotten the message yet? (We're supposed to be able to read their minds and know that they are turning....)

Thanks Bama for creating this vent-free space.
I am getting sick and tired of traveling Brookbank road twice a day 5 days a week and having to fight the careless, speedy 16 yr old and up drivers. Not only is it the speed demons but it is the drivers who pull out in front of me from Henson Farms. Why must they do that---I know they see me --but still insist on being in front. What really grips my butt is the big SUV woman driver who deliberately pulls out, stomps on the gas just to be first and then fumbles around trying to locate her sunglasses (mind you that it was cloudy yesterday afternoon--not even a glare!) And then not only did she pull out in front of me, but she did not even STOP at the stop sign at Oak Ridge Road---she slowed down --took a quik look and proceeded to pull out. Come on lady , be considerate of others on the road---I have a baby on board. She is more important than your cool looking sunglasses.

haha ^ I know that lady- not specifically her but her type.. they do that to me numerous times on my way to/from work. I drive an hour each way, so I see alot of things. haha.
oh and no offense to women.. I am just referring to bad drivers in general.

I saw a movie or read a story about a woman who lived in the suburbs and loved her 40 minute work commute into the city because it gave her time for a manicure. Well, bless Patty (not the cow kind)if I didn't spot a woman doing just that. She was pulling up to a stoplight, car rolling, wrists steering, filing her nails. Lots of times I've seen people reading books at stoplights. 'Course, that's not much worse than talking on the phone. OK, I'm guilty, too. I promise myself about once a week that I WILL NOT answer the phone while driving, but the phone usually wins.

I gotta confess Starcatchr.... If I hit the mailbox on the way out on a Thursday, I usually read the NWO (at least the first 5 pages, starting at the back of course ) at the stoplights!
BAD CRACKER!

We went to LOWES in Kville Fri. afternoon late (supper time ) asked my wife if that is why we usually stay home on Friday nites. Saw a little old lady whip across 3 lanes of traffic just to cuss some guy in a van, soon as she had her say she went to Target.

Actually, it was 4 lanes, and I was just thanking him for being such a courteous driver!!
