Sounds like you got a promotion?

Hee hee! I fergot to mention, I got a dead mouse as a bonus this year! A few days ago the cat caught and killed a member of that elusive band of local rodents. A viewing was held on the livingroom carpet in a somber ceremony unattended by next of kin. The body was remanded to my custody fer internment before Mammy woke up.

Sandra, new headline.

Prominent Local Citizen burying dead bodies on his own property without proper certification.

Makes me wonder if Mayor Brown & Fatpappy are related, they seem to have the same pastimes???

Steve, to get the scoop on those two birds, you're going to have to uncover some dirt. Quick, here's a shovel.........

Gotta love rural life...

I got home tonight and heard the most gawdawful noise, coming from my backyard. I thought it was either a cow or a very sick bear. Sure enough, my neighbor now has 2 cows and a bull, none of which were very happy with my dogs, sheep, and goats that are close to their pasture. ;)

Wow, Aeolius, sounds like between you and your neighbor, you've got a real menagerie over there. Just add in Pappy's cat (and the prize mouse), and you'd have everything.

My neighbors used to have miniature donkeys in the pasture beside my house. If you've never heard a donkey bray, it can be a pretty unnerving sound if you're not used to it.

Got one of those, too. ;) And an alpaca, some chickens, cats, a squirrel, lizard, snake, fish, a parrot, etc etc..

What an historic weekend, complete with full television coverage, this has been:

The State Funeral of President Ford in the Capitol Rotunda (pomp & ceremony)

Final funeral services for James Brown (complete with Al Sharpton & Jesse Jackson)

The execution of Saddam Hussein

Anyone else out there a news junkie?

I think peacocks are pretty unnerving too. They scream "help" all the time. Sounds human. My son has a couple and if the wind is right I can hear them at my house along with his donkeys. We have guineas. They are just noisy. some nights we come home and hear them still out in the barn yelling.

Jim I haven't been too much of a news junky this week end as I was reading a very good book but I did watch CNN last night as the news came out. I did not want to see the pictures of the actual event so I did not watch news today. Gerald Ford though brought back the memories of the years leading up to his presidency and all the turmoil of the war and watergate. He was a good president for the time. A good and honorable man I think.

Cracker I thought you had just deserted us. Sorry to hear you are sick.

Yes Jim, I would fit that category of news junkie.

I rarely have the patience to sit in front of a TV, I get most of mine from CNN, wfmynews2, wxii, time, cbs etc internet channels as discussed on Sandra's "unbiased biased news reports".

the one other favorite story this week was about the airline passenger getting upset and slapping another passenger, who happened to be a federal marshall for the flight............be careful who you upset when you're upset.
