Woo wee!!! What a day for staying home and taking care of some bidniz.... Like bill paying, organizing, reading, catching the race on the tube.... napping....:D;)

Macca, I think you might be onto somethin' there. While Pappy's tryin' to corral a few thoughts (uh, payin' bills here, Mammy), Pappy's cat is leisurely watchin a Cardinals game out the winder. Ol' Pappy Cardinal is up to bat at the birdfeeder, but the Mockin'bird is keepin' up the pressure on the pitcher's mound. There's the windup, the pitch...it's a HIT! While the Mockin'bird is chasin' down Pappy Cardinal, Mammy Cardinal done stole home! Score some seeds fer the Cardinals!

Hi BreBre
I don't know who owns those dogs, but you might want to write a letter to the editor about this. Allowing dogs to run loose is dangerous to the dogs and to people. I know I've swerved all over the place trying to avoid animals that darted out into the road. Heck, I've even stopped traffic to fetch snakes and turtles out of traffic. If you don't want to write a letter to the editor, email a question to the 'Questions You've Asked' page and ask what you can do. Maybe the folks who own these dogs will see the write-up and take measures to keep their dogs contained. Sadly, you may have to call Animal Control to retrieve the dogs. If they're hanging out around a busy road, it's just a matter of time before something bad happens. :(

Alicia

P.S. On your bank problem, you can (a) change banks and write a letter to the home office explaining why you are doing so, or (b) you can write a letter to the home office explaining that you WILL change banks if the tellers don't stop announcing private information. At my credit union, the tellers write the balance on the receipt. The figure is never spoken aloud. Complaining in writing is usually a good way to get people's attention. It means that you're ticked off enough to sit down and compose a letter. Most managers don't want customers THAT ticked off.

n00b here. :D Hello everyone. I wanted to talk about animals for a minute. I am an animal lover. All animals are created equal :) BUT what is not fair to animals is letting them run loosely on a busy highway in Summerfield. I am speaking of 2 beautiful golden retrievers that grace me with their presence every morning during rush hour and late at night. They do have collars, but no tags. (or else I would contact the owners) If you know someone that owns these dogs, please tell them to take care of them. Thank you!

Welcome BreBre.... I'm checking out the bottom of the page and see that the forum needs 13 more folks to hit the 200 mark for members.  Anybody want to guess when it'll hit that level and what's gonna be the topic that gets us there?

It's taken us since mid-December to get the most recent 13, so if we used that as a gauge, it'd be early May..... and I'd vote for MAAN being the drawing card, but it very well could be schools, something about one of our local government actions, or maybe global warming!!!:D ♥♥♥

Howdy mstone!!!

You doin' macca's job tonight?  She's our resident bean counter, the one who usually keeps track of all of the forum numbers! ;)

If I had to venture a guess, I'd like to say that MAAN II is gonna be the topic that draws them in, but I'll have to put my Texa$ on a topic that pertains to the SF town council's own "dynamic duo".....

Oh yea... and Macca, I'm partial to marigold.... :D

The upcoming Northwest area town council elections in a few months will draw 'em in.

But based on our past record, it won't take that long to get 13 more.....

Getting 200 'members' to join is one thing. (Several 'members' no doubt are actually one and the same person under different guises)

Getting 200 citizens to participate in any meaningful dialogue (not foderol) on a regular basis beyond one post or one issue is another.

In candor, I don't think this Forum is all that open and welcoming to the voices and viewpoints of dissent and diversity, which is why the larger masses don't participate.

Sorry, Jimbo, must disagree with you (yet again....)

I think the forum CAN provide a place for differing viewpoints, it's just that some people resort to "talking down" to others who don't see things as they do, and some just can't handle that others don't see things as they do..... I believe that if you surveyed forum participants, most would be wholeheartedly in favor of open debate of issues.....

There has been an open invitation to the community to join in (folderol or no), but some object to participants who wish to maintain their anonymity and others choose not to for whatever their reasoning may be....

I still hope that participation in the forum will continue to grow.... We certainly offer a broad range of topics, with the possibility of adding more always there.
