Yes, but MAAN I was much PRETTIER than MAAN II!!!!!  ;)

I left it down in the graveyard if you want to go back and look at it for old times sake.  Unfortunately, in this case, Pretty means Slow, and it was getting pretty slow.

Jim I have tried all the tricks I know and short of throwing the modem against the wall I do not know any more. Actually over the past 7 or 8 years that i have had DSL I have had very little trouble but when it goes bad it is very frustrating. Hopefully they will be here this moring and I will be quickly fixed. Dial up is very slow.

Good morning friends!!!

Toured the new Northern Guilford Middle School last night.  It's impressive!  I'm glad to see that they're finally designing our schools to be more eco friendly.  The architect was there and said that for instance, 90% of the water used by the school (Toilet flushing mainly) will be collected, used, sent through a man made sewage treatment area (with plants... not sure how that works) and then used for irrigation of ballfields.  Natural lighting everywhere!!!

Anyway, it's a beautiful school.  Go see it if you get a chance!

GO NIGHTHAWKS!!!!

I was able to pick up for pennies on the dollar prices a rather large and nice stock of some wonderful and in many cases wonderfully large specimen trees, about half of which will be decorated in the years ahead and used as Christmas trees, and the other half as 'street' trees. The largest tree which we brought back was a huge 20 foot very full leyland cypress which will be a 'centerpiece tree' when I can figure out where in heck to plant it. It was the largest tree they had featured in the coliseum last week and it took a small crane to load that monster on our truck. The reason we were able to buy it for almost nothing, was that no one else wanted to fool with having to move it and transport it out of the coliseum.

Jimbo! Decide what you're gonna do with all those trees yet??? ♥♥♥

Crackah!! I've been seein' Fox8's story on the building this morning! So the kids are there today, huh???

I'm glad they were able to incorporate as much "green" into it as they were.... I know there was a lot of opposition to that b/c of the upfront costs, even though it will be so much more efficient thru the years.....

Hope all goes GREAT for those NIGHTHAWKS today!!! ♥♥♥

Macca, all of those trees, with the possible exception of the largest Leyland cypress (the 'centerpiece' Christmas tree) are going to be planted here at my home and on the farm.

We had originally planned to donate the large 20 foot cypress to the Stokesdale Fire Department for use as a 'town tree' but they seem to be bogged down with having to go through committees and bureaucracies and all that red tape stuff, so I'm betting we will have it planted and in the ground somewhere before they ever make up their minds. (Ya' snooze ya' lose)

There was a suggestion and discussion this morning at the 'community' breakfast table (Family Diner) that we should donate it to the Summerfield Park. Any thoughts on that?

What's the holdup with the fire department?

What about the Stokesdale "arboretum," where you've already planted all those other trees? ♥♥♥

It seems no one wants to make a decision without a 'committee meeting'. Bureaucracy at it's finest. Just like town government.

I Thank God every day for his blessing that I work in the private and entrepreneurial sector where people are trained and empowered to make decisions.

Macca, we have other trees planned for the arboretum. We also would like to have the benefit of a landscape architect's overall comprehensive plan and to see how many of the trees we planted last year make it through this winter before we install others.
