Pappy was havin' a nutritious bowl o' grits t'other mornin' when several strips o' bacon might have accidentally got crumbled up an' jumped in the bowl. I say "might" because I think I fergot to turn on the burner under the kettle, so l reckon I never actually got around to makin' the bowl o' grits. Which means, if I recollect correctly, the bacon was never actually crumbled up in the grits, which would be a silly thang to do without no bowl o' grits. I'm unclear at this point what happened to the bacon in question, but I recollect John Wayne might have et some bacon in True Grit which is about as close to the truth as I'm willin' to go without a stick.

Hey Macca is the new name one of those people? Am I finally catching on? No birthdate given.

Well I have DSL problems and have been fighting with AT&T about getting it fixed. They are totally inflexible. No they will not call and tell me a time I must sit here in 4 hour increments and wait for them to show up. When it use to be Bellsouth they trouble shot over the phone and if you couldn't fix it they sent a new modem. well no more. Now they send the technician out sometime in a 4 hour period. If it is equipment failure then the call is free but if it is my fault then I understood it is an $80 one time charge.  My DSL line has been in for 7 or 8 years why would it suddenly be my problem on a Weekend when I was at the beach but no they will not send me a new modem. If he shows up tomorrow and does not have a modem replacement you may very well read about a murder in Summerfield.

Jane, have you tried cutting the power off to your modem for 30 seconds and then trying to reconnect. On some of the modems, that is all it takes, a simple reset by cutting power for 30 seconds.
