Jim I am very familiar with your problem with skunks have already had two attacks this winter. The skunks spend a lot of time in the barn with the cats and then the dogs try to chase them.
Heres what I have found to be as effective as anything. Dawn dishwashing soap as it releases the oil from the skunk smell, after that liberal doses of baking soda to neutrilize the smell, rub it all over and then I cover them in vinegar and again rub it all over and wash it all off. I have a huge bag of baking soda from sams or Coscos and a gallon bottle of vinegar just for the episodes. Then they don't smell unless they get wet.
We have 2 hundred pound idiots living with us and a smaller mainly outside dog. Nothing like opeining the door in the morning after they have gone for their morning rounds to the over whelming odor of skunk. Then having to try to figure out who or if all got hit.
You will have fun today.

Groundhog Day? I b'lieve it is! Wonder what that critter's got in store fer us?
Mebbe Pappy's diet will let my toes get out from under the shade an' see some daylight on Groundhog Day this year! Hee hee!
Matter o' fact, I got a email from my toes t'other day. Said they'd heard from my shinbones that I was on a diet an' was lookin' forward to seein' me ag'in. Pappy an' his toes has been, well...we ain't seent each other in many a moon...ever since my gut came between us. It all started out so innocent...just a Baby Ruth bar or twelve now an' then. Soon it was out o' control. All I could see was my gut. The bitter truth is I just lost sight o' my toes. Oh, I'd see a reflection of 'em ever' now an' then in a passin' doughnut shop window.
Anyhoo, things is workin' out.

I sure hope the gound hog doesn't see his shadow and spring comes immediately. I want to work in my garden.
I am suppose to get my boot off Thursday. Other ankle is not doing so well but we will just have to wait and see if it will heal with some time. We have an impossible walkway up to the house. It is beautiful if you are steady on your two feet but very uneven which makes walking in this boot very difficult. I can't wait for two tennis shoes.

Ah, but Jane, we've got some kiddies out here (including some BIG ones -- CRACKAH!!) who haven't seen snow in such a l--o--n--g time!!! They'all gonna be watching that groundhog closely to see if himmer's tellin' the truth about that shadow!!! They might even shine a light on him just to make sure he sees it!!! ♥♥♥
Good luck with getting back to "regulation" footwear!!!
