Well, they're calling for another C O L D day today -- in preparation for all the precipitation tomorrow!!! Sounds like they're all predicting snow, sleet, freezing rain -- and temps around freezing all day! Just hope school officials are paying attention and/or that it starts early enough that it's not a problem there!!!
Get to the grocery store early!! I've been taking stock of my cabinets, fridge and freezer -- trying to use up stuff I've got on hand before buying more, so I'm ready to make oatmeal cookies and banana bread tomorrow!

Sorry Macca had to check on and then go read the paper and work the cross word puzzle which was hard today but I finally cracked it.
Can't go outside much til I get this d**n fracture boot off. It is coming off tomorrow whether I see the doc or not. If I get snowed out I am declaring myself healed!!! Besides if it snows much I will have to go out to sled with the kids. I have some really warm barn boots.
On Idol the judges are real suckers for a sad story especially with a southern accent. She has a better than average voice but not great. My husband works in Reidsville so he is going to get the scoop today.

Mornin'!!!! I was gone last night Macca.... but only cause I thought you were gone! Then when I did my final check before shutting down, I saw you'd posted so I couldn't resist!!! BSTV is BS TV. You know.... cause American Idol is a bunch of BS ....(and if SMS gets me for saying that I'm gonna swear that BS stands for Bad Singing!)
Had to take Wheat Thin to the Ortho this morning to get a broken wire fixed. I should know better by now, but when that kid gets anywhere in the vicinity of Krispy Kreme shem starts hollerin' "HOT NOW" and of course they're piping the smell up and down Battleground so it gets your endorphins all hyped up.
I was really only gonna stop and get a cup of coffee.....
Ya'll have a fantastic day and Jane, be careful on that sled tomorrow!!!

Hee hee! Throw a few o' them Krispie Kremes in there before you wire it back shut.
Krispie Kremes is much better snow day food than milk an' bread. Trouble is, any Krispies bought today is gonna be long gone before the snow starts!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.
Let me win the lottery, let me win the lottery, let me win the lottery.
Pappy's happy either way.

Me too Pappy!!!! (pssssttt.... you will share those lottery winnin's won't ya?)
Latest email from Duke energy.... I say if the "people in power" are concerned, ya'll might oughta heed my water in the tub warnin'......
This winter event has the potential for significant snow and ice in our area. Duke personnel have begun planning to respond to significant icing and associated power outages. Predictions are as high as 3/8 to ½ inch of ice. Once ice exceeds ¼ inch we begin to see outages. See the attached forecast map for current prediction, which is subject to change given we’re still 24 hours away from the start of precipitation. Outages could start as early as late Thursday afternoon, but more likely Thursday evening into Thursday night.
A combination of a developing low pressure system over the Gulf tonight and a shallow layer of cold dry air at surface over the Carolinas will set the stage for a Significant Winter Weather event for the Duke Energy Carolinas Service Area Thursday.
Clouds and precipitation in the form of snow will develop by daybreak across the mountains and upstate SC, spreading rapidly northeast into the piedmont sections of the Carolinas by mid to late morning. The snow will become mixed with sleet at times with accumulations of 1 to 3 inches possible mainly north and west of I85. During the morning hours the precipitation will change to freezing rain along and south of I85 with the change over slowly working northward during the afternoon. The region north of I40 may experience a longer period of snow/sleet well into the afternoon. Freezing rain will continue through the afternoon and evening hours. At this time there is still some uncertainty regarding precipitation amounts and the degree of warming that will work northward during the late afternoon and evening changing the freezing rain to rain. Based on past experience with these type systems and the fact that the models tend to warm the low levels to quickly there is a good chance that a swath of significant icing may developing by evening across portions of the I85 corridor from Clemson, SC north to Durham. The attached forecast map this morning shows an area of 3/8 to ½” of ice along and just north of I85. Additionally ice accumulations of up to ¼” are possible both south of this area and along and north of I40. Since we are still 24 hours away from the start of this winter event the forecast swath of significant icing could shift north or south as we get closer to the event. Needless to say, ice accumulations in the 3/8 to ½” range will result in widespread power outages Thursday evening across portions of the Duke Service Area.
Temperatures Thursday will remain at 3or below freezing for most of the day. Winds are expected to remain out of the northeast 10 mph or less.
Travel conditions will begin to deteriorate across the western mountain counties and upstate SC during the morning hours after daybreak as snow/sleet accumulates. Once the change over to freezing rain occurs then additional hazardous driving conditions will develop in the afternoon across all areas of the Service Area.

Pappy's cat is usin' reverse psychology on Ol' Man Winter.
By doin' a hula instead of a snow dance an' actin' like she don't care,
she's figgerin' we'll get some snow.
