Geez, quiet on here tonight.
SMS is batching it this weekend. Spoose is gone to New Orleans to a Red Crossers party........and daughter is off doing whatever college freshmen do on a Saturday night (don't tell me).
So it's me, the dog, and 2 cats. Actually they're providing the entertainment. Periodically the dog tears after a cat, chases one upstairs, I hear a bunch of activity upstairs, dog comes down a few minutes later like "gee I really told that cat"..........and the cat is following her back down the stairs like "yeah, right".
Dog trying to establish dominance to a cat with an attitude. Reminds me of MY marriage.

So Macca, tell us about your decorating: Did you carve and light pumpkins? Put up Halloween lights? Put out those inflatable lighted Halloween characters? Decorate a witch on a broomstick to look like 'Mom'?
Will you be handing out "good candy" or the cheap stuff? Can Pappy and I come by for Trick or Treat?

Shore, Jimbo! Just look for the gaudiest looking Halloween house and come on up!!! We'll have lots of "good" candy, just for you!! Are you handing out trees for Halloween??♥♥♥
Too funny about the witch that looks like "mom," but I don't want to scare the kiddies TOOO much!!!

hey Macca........you handin' out Reece's Peanut Butter Cups??? I have a real weakness for those.
Since spoose is out of town, I'm letting the dog sleep in the bedroom with me (not the bed, just the room), the cat is already in here with the feline version of Nyah Nyah, Nyah.........animal world is interesting to watch.
Now the dern cat has jumped in bed with me, and laid on my chest nose to nose like "let's be buds"........apparently hasn't figured out I'm not a cat person. It's OK, he landed on his feet........good loft !!
yes Jim, I am very familiar with the dawg houz.

Paul McCartney spaces out in A&E concert special
Keep it simple.
For all his fame and fortune, that's still the rule Sir Paul McCartney lives by. Clad in a T-shirt and slacks, with guitar in hand, the music legend displays his unassuming style -- even during a live serenade to the crew orbiting in the International Space Station -- in the new A&E Network special "Paul McCartney: The Space Within Us" Saturday, Oct. 28.
Principally a concert performance filmed last November in Anaheim, Calif., during the former Beatle's 11-week U.S. tour, the program also profiles the present-day McCartney (minus mention of his breakup with second wife Heather).
Notables including former President Bill Clinton, Apple Computer co-founder Steve Jobs, Tony Bennett and filmmaker Cameron Crowe comment on McCartney's impact, not just on the music industry but as a social force.
I had almost forgotten this was going to be on..... Was just scrolling thru the TV menu and saw listing for it.... 10 pm on A&E! I'll be watching!!!! ♥♥♥

Steve-o! I've never seen that disclaimer that was with it, but now I don't see it again. I also don't know how to copy the list of folks who are on-line and paste it like that!!!.... Oh, well.....ANywho, I was glad to see the candidates logged on as well. Of course, Mr. Riffe has posted here before, and seems pretty comfortable with us! Perhaps Mrs. Shaw will as well.... ♥♥♥

They just showed a family, maybe from Kentucky, who were big McCartney fans. Had seen him in concert all over, and were planning more. Went to some venue, about 20 of them -- 3 generations. Had their t-shirts (standing side-by-side "Hi Paul" spelled out...), signs, etc. When they checked into their hotel they said something about why they were there, then showed them in the restaurant and he walks in and starts talking to them! Talk about freaking out!!! I'd probably faint!! ♥♥♥

I went to the pumpkin event too Ray, but I didn't see ya! I saw Patti and Sandra and the gang (their costumes were great!)and we hauled home lots of candy. We had a good time. Then we went to a Halloween party that lasted way into the wee hours... It's 1:35 now... for the second time tonight....
Macca, I'm so glad you're back! I don't function too well without you!
Oh, and Ray, use what ever avatar makes you happy. I think the pic of you is quite dandy though!
Sorry to hear about those signs. That happened to another candidate in the primary. He went around replacing those missing signs and would check back later to find the replacements torn and mangled. That's just low if you asked me. I'd be interested to hear if that happens to your replacement signs.

Hi Mr. Adkins and everybody!
I think the 'time-stamps' on these message posts are a little off. Because at 9:38pm, my wife and I were on the way to see the movie 'Flags of our Fathers'. As you all know, I'm a former 'jarhead' and it's getting close to Veteran's Day and the Marine Corps Birthday (Nov. 10). And every once in a while I need to re-connect to those days. I don't know why, I guess it's the "Once a Marine, Always a Marine" thing.
I may have left my computer online when we left for the movies. I didn't mean to mislead anyone.
Anyway, I came home and had to call the deputy sherriff's office on non-emergency. It seems my opponent must be upset about my rebuttals or something.
When my wife and I returned home from the movies (at about 1am) we noticed all of my yard signs were stolen along the street near our house, and stolen out of people's yards!
I mean, I don't like it when any of my signs are stolen and often they're stolen from the roadside, but when the thieves cross personal property, that's a different situation.
There were probably about 8-12 signs stolen and mostly out of Republican yards! I'm going to let those good Republicans wake-up and see this on their way to church tomorrow and let them fume a little and get angry enough to vote next week. I have plenty of signs to replace them with and will do so. I'm sure they won't forget it!
The deputies have committed to patrolling more for the next week.
As for me, the arguing and debating is over and it's VOTIN' TIME!
I get the real sense that people like me and I like them and I'm excited about being their next commissioner!
I was at the Pumpkin Event earlier today and had a great time meeting people. My opponent was nowhere to be seen. But ol' Howard was, but I didn't see him because I got there after he left.
The only other candidate I saw was Susan Bray. She and her folks in their red t-shirts and me and my folks in our blue t-shirts. It was a democratic sight to see!
You all should see what my kids call the 'bling' they're wearing! The bling is a used CD disk with a hole drilled in it and a string run through the hole. A 'Ray Riffe for County Commissioner' sticker is placed on the disc and it makes a neat 'medallion' or 'bling'. They're cheap, eye-catching and the kids LOVE 'EM! We gave those things to everyone at the festival tonight and I ran out! 'Ray Riffe Recycles!'.
I ran into a nice fellow in Oak Ridge today and he said HE VOTED FOR ME! YAY!
I never met him before and what a great feeling it was! I've never ran for public office before and that was my first confirmation. I'll never forget it!
Anyway, just wanted to give you all the latest! NIGHTY NIGHT!!
PS-Anyone want a sign?
PPS- Are you all sick of seeing my smiling face every time I post? I guess I can change it to something else if you'd like, but I'm not very creative...

Mornin', you all.
I ain't sure what time it is, but I do know it's mornin'. I recognize it from a pitcher I seent once.
Good to see Macca backa!
Steve, Pappy had a crazy Siamese blend cat once that got tired o' the dog sniffin' him all the time, so the cat rared up on his back legs one day an' walked toward the dog like Frankenstein's monster fer a few steps, then he dropped to all fours an' chased the dog from the room. The dog has kept a wary, if not semi-respectful eye on all cats ever since.
Sorry I missed ever'body at the punkin event. Sounds like a good'n.
I'm with you, Ray. I'm ready to get on with the votin' too. I already feel like you're our commissioner just because I've seen an' heard from you more in two or three months than I have your opponent in years.
That's a shame 'bout them signs. I hope we can start to get a little balance an' tolerance back in the mix.
