I guess all the networks are doing their fall preview things... Caught one for Grey's Anatomy just now.... Reviewed some of the more unusual cases.... The official medical term was CSOD!!  ♥♥♥

PAPPY! I caught The Outlaw Josey Wales today! I CANNOT believe I've never watched that movie!! It was S-O-O-O good! One of the little maccas would wander thru every now and then and I'd have to explain something that was going on at the time..... Some great lines in there!

| Sad, shocking news....Steve Irwin, best known as The Crocodile Hunter, was killed by a stingray on Sunday while diving off the coast of Australia. Evidently the barb of a stingray is not only coated with toxins, it can be as deadly as a bayonet if it pierces a vital organ. Irwin was struck in the chest. He and his wife Terri had two young children. He was 44. Crikey...♥♥♥

Steve Irwin - sad
Interesting, the cruise we took a couple years ago included a trip to "stingray island" in (?) Cozumel (I think?), where you go out in the ocean, feed and pet the stingrays. Those were tame as cats & dogs, but I always wondered about those long stingers.
If you go to CNN.com, and watch the film clip on Steve Irwin, it shows him on Larry King live demonstrating some big snake to King, who didn't seem to enthused by it.

The stories I've read this morning say that stingrays do not attack unless they feel threatened. People who were with Irwin say he and a photographer were in shallow water, with the photographer in front and the ray between them. Experts say it likely felt trapped and was just protecting itself.  They cited Irwin's history of going close to what he was studying; in fact he's been criticized in the past for taking unwarranted risks.... This project was actually for a new series his 8-year-old daughter was going to have (?). He had been working on a documentary called "Ocean's Deadliest," but something happened that prevented work on it on Sunday. He was just doing this to have something to do while he was out anyway. His producer didn't see any harm with it, since it would keep him occupied and would also provide footage for the other project....

Macca! Outlaw Jose Wales is one o' Clint's best, despite the fact that Sondra Locke is in it. He was just a simple farmer, till they pushed him too far...
It's got some great lines in it. "You can pay me when you see me, Jose Wales." Hee hee!

| While I loved Steve Irwin's enthusiasm, I often thought his programs bordered on harrassment of the animals. Sort of see what I great white hunter can do... But he died happy, doing what he loved. That is not a bad thing.
