According to Dale Evans' official biography, she had 2 children -- one from her first marriage, which ended when she was 17. Until her marriage to Rogers in 1946, she had presented her son as her brother. She and Roy had one daughter, Robin, who died in early childhood. Roy had 3 children from his first wife, who died of complications from childbirth the year before he and Dale married. They also had several foster children thru the years, in addition to the 4 they adopted.♥♥♥

The 'scuttlebutt' among the 'locals' this morning in downtown Stokesdale is that the young man driving the truck has died and that he is from Stokesdale. I don't have a name yet for the driver but will try to find that out and report back. This is scuttlebutt rather than confirmed fact, so please accept it as such.

That's sure sad about the guy in the truck. Thanks fer passin' it on, Jim.

Macca, I hate I missed that cowboy show. That would have been just like the good ol' days -- westerns on Sat'day mornin'! This mornin', howemsoever, I went outside to play instead o' watchin' TV, like my mammy was always tellin' me. Sure is purty out yonder.

Hey Ya'll! Happy Holiday Weekend to all! So far, I have done NO LABOR today and I don't plan to do any for the next 72+ hours either! :D Why IS it called LABOR DAY anyway?? I think it should be called LAZY DAY!

WOW, ya'll've been busy! I'll never get caught up - skim, skim, skim! I love the recipe section - I'll try to drum up a good one to post this weekend - be forewarned, it'll probably be CHOCOLATE!

HELLO to the new folks! It is so fun to see new northwesterners here! :D

HELLO to all you OLD TIMERS - glad to see you're still alive and kickin' ;) (just kiddin')

How 'bout them Panthers!?! A winning preseason! Can't wait til next Sunday - first game of the season!

Happy trails fer now, pardners! Pappy's gonna mosey back out yonder and do some more "yard work".

(I figger the hammock's in the yard and it's work climbin' in it, so technic'ly that qualifies as yard work. Hee hee!)

Spyke is one of my suppliers.

He's well acquainted with both my bark and my bite.

Fortunately he represents a fine company that doesn't require much barking or biting at all.

Thanks Pap, I was trying to help you out, I didn't know where you would get a pic of a polar bear beside a shuttle anyway......

Didn't want you to, well you know, embarrass yourself....
