Mornin' everybody! You know that Tonto is never far behind the Lone Ranger :D ! Besides, there's a council meeting this week and we may be needed!

Very sad news about the original Steve-O.  :(

He made great strides in helping folks to understand more about the animal kingdom even though he took some unnecessary chances sometimes.  We'll miss him for sure.

Right you are, Tonto! Miscreants an' scofflaws have been known to run amok over the good folks at them town meetin's. We gotta be ready fer anythang. Wonder if Mom's been practicin' her fast draw crocodile grin an' will try callin' out Wild Bill Hill ag'in? Wonder if DC will try throwin' hard rolls o' dimes at us this time instead o' soft paper checks? Wonder if BS will bring a gas grill to roast her next victims or just eat 'em raw?

Pappy's been thinkin' about poor ol' Steve Irwin an' his crowd all day in the back o' my haid. Many's the time I'd holler at the TV fer him to quit doin' that crazy stuff. I knew it was a matter o' time if he kept on like that. He was a good ol' boy, though.

Ditto Pappy

My wife & I frequently sat and wondered how he got away with all the antics he did.   Some animals are domesticated, but he seemed to thrill in getting close to the non-domesticated types. Granted, he put on one heck of a show in the process.

Me too Pappy.... Been thinkin' about Steve all day. I figured it'd be one of those "world's deadliest" snakes that would finally get him.  That used to make me CRAZY when he'd dangle those rascals in front of his nose.

I'd scream, "QUIT talkin' to us and fling that sucker back into the outback!"  He never listened to me though....

Glad it wasn't a Croc that got him.  That wouldn't have looked good after he fought so hard to try to make us understand that they are misunderstood creatures....:?

Pappy found a link on the Animal Planet site to a memorial forum if anybody wants to say somethin' to Steve Irwin's fambly. Right now it's runnin' slower'n Pappy 'cause I reckon 'bout ever'body on this planet is tryin' to get on there.

I couldn't get on, but I'll try later.

Them croc critters might be misunderstood by some, but fer what little bit I know about 'em, I reckon I understand 'em well enough. Fer some reason crocs an' snakes never gave Pappy that warm fuzzy feelin'. Crocs has got one point o' view an' one word in their vocabulary to discuss that point o' view..."chomp!" Oh, they're awesome critters an' all, but TV's as close as I wanna get to one.

I have never thought about in being like Springer, but it is.  The only thing we are missing is that good looking bouncer I think his name is Steve.  Not sure if that is his name, tried to google it, but couldn't find much unless your brother was really your father and your sister, or if you were not the baby daddy, oh wait that is Maury.  Well we are going to call him SBS (super bouncer Steve).  Because I like the way it sounds and I like the way it sounds on this forum.  If they would throw a chair now and then it could be Geraldo.

Looking forward to tomorrow night and hopefully the duo will sit still.

So Paps I was putting away laundry last night and go to open my underwear drawer to put underwear away.  The 3 Little Lackas thought it would be fun to put a lizard in my drawer to give me a thrill.  I started screaming and Jockeys went flying in the air.....All I can hear are, hee hees, and ha ha has......I will get them back, they sounded like a bunch of girls they did.

The lizard wasn't real, I didn't know it, cause it sure did look real, and the lighting is not that good in the bedroom, not because of lizards, but well anyway.  I now have the lizard and he is going to school tomorrow with the oldest Lacka in his back pack.  Yes I will most likely get a note home from school, or the dreaded phone call, but let me tell you I will deny ever putting it there.

I cannot imagine where they get ideas like that I would never.....

About people from the school reading the forum, um well, what I had intended to say was not that I was going to do it tomorrow, well I know I said that, but I am still a little edge from the experience.....Maybe not tomorrow,  but one day like maybe when he goes to college, yeah, that is it, not tomorrow at NWHS.......college....

That would be fine by me, then I wouldn't have to worry about the darn thing showing up again when I least expect it.  Only bad thing would be that I couldn't send it in the lunch box day after tomorrow with the little Lacka.

Pappy, I guess most if not all of us have being doing the same thing in thinking about Steve Irwin today, both sadly as well as with a smile in thinking of some of his televised adventures and antics as well as his colorful and enticing persona. Like you said, he was a good ol' boy and surely one of a kind.

There are some facinating resources and extended coverage of Steve Irwin's death online at the Sydney, Australia Sydney Morning Herald (newspaper) website where it is already morning over there now. I have include the weblink below for those wishing to know more.
