Mornin' all! Another beautiful mornin'. I reckon Jane's still readin' the paper or somethin', so that's not the official report, but I reckon it would stand a court challenge if it came to that.

Pappy agrees on the BLT biscuits, Possumhund, except I call 'em BLMs. The T confuses the young'uns, since mater starts with M. I want my young'uns to be educated proper. On t'other hand, if we was out at a fancy eatin' place an' ordered a Bacon, Lettuce an' Mater, an' ended up with a BLT instead, I don't reckon we'd send it back. The belly don't know the differ'nce, an' in such rare cases of mind/belly conflict I generally defer to Lao Tzu's wisdom. He says "Therefore, the Sage takes care of the belly, not the eye. He prefers what is within to what is without." Pappy prefers not to be without a Bacon, Lettuce an' Mater biscuit within my belly! Hee hee!

Morning All!! It is a beautifyl morning out. I love listening to the cicadas this time of the year. The outside is so busy in the summer. Lots of baby bluebirds around along with other babies  learning to fly. Saw a Mama Turkey and her baby walking along the edge of the field. A Mama deer and her spotted baby stood at the side of the road on the hill last week and we just quietly looked at each other until I drove off. We horse back rode through the fields yesterday and were going to take the horses into the lake but I am afraid my horse will roll. He is the biggest fool about water. Spends most afternoons with both his front feet in the watering tub splashing the water out. One of the dogs has taken on his job to chase Stanley out of the water tub. We have to keep an eye on Stanley's shoes because he spends so much time standing in the tub and it can loosen his shoes.

Read the paper this morning. Interesting article on the problems with pollution in the mountains. Also reran a couple of Doug Marlette more interesting political cartoons. Boy will he be missed.

Pappy have you got any biscuits at your house? I have the bacon and the maters.

I'm curious as to whether the Moderators will be setting up 'candidate' threads for the three Northwest community local elections coming up, much as you did for last year's elections?

Further, will the Northwest Observer be sponsoring any kind of 'candidates forum' which would allow candidates and citizens to get to know each other better sometime before the elections in the Fall?

Should it be limited to only the serious candidates that have a chance or should we let them all embarras themselves ala Edwards and Hillary?

ff12, I am curious how we could decide WHICH are the serious local candidates for town council and which are not? WHO would make that determination? (I sort of assume that if someone expends the effort to file and coughs up the five dollar application fee to sign up for such an experience, they must be at least somewhat serious about their quest) What do you think?

Have you thought about running for Stokesdale Town Council? So far, there are only 2 candidates signed up while there are three open positions. You ought to jump on in so we can at least be guaranteed a Trifecta!

Morning All!!! If it doesn't rain today it has missed a good opportunatey. It is really humid and foggy out this morning. If it was August then we could count this fog as a prediction of snow but since it is only July the fog doesn't count.  At least that is what my husband's grandmother always told me. She knew a lot of old wives tales. Bless her heart never drew a healthy breath her whole life or so she said.  Unfortunately died in 1990 at 99.5 years old. I have always wondered if she had been healthy how old she would have lived to be?

Everybody have a great day and Cracker are you doing the rain dance? Macca and I are still waiting fro the invitation to the cow pasture exeriment.

Mornin' all. Pappy's been transactin' some bidness an' missed mornin' roll call. Mebbe instead o' roll call we should refer to it as biscuit call. Save them rolls fer dinner.
