Steve, how's the back today? You gonna be fit to eat Turkey???
Like I just told someone in a PM, our nerves don't like having needles stuck in them, so there's a period of time when the pain gets worse before it gets better. Given the current blustery weather, it's a good time to stay inside and lay around anyway.
Thanks for asking...............and BTW, my wife will tell you pain doesn't slow my appetite down any, yes I will be eating Turkey.

Just an FYI to all. Thought you'd like to know this info.
The first link is to a topic where many other users are complaining about the "spambots" that are hitting virtually everyone, ie those machine generated names that we've seen a proliferation of on this forum also. Not keeping count, but I'd guess I'm deleting around 7 - 10 fake names per week. The topic also lists suggestions from others how to stop it, but this requires programming by the creators.

The 2nd link is a list of known spammers which has been put into the filter as a list of banned emails. Hopefully, this has not inadvertantly banned any valid email accounts, ie if the name is too long, the software lets the name be shortened to only the "triad.rr.com" or "yahoo.com" suffix. I only shortened all the really strange looking email accounts, ie "offshorebankaccounts.com" type. If anybody's email account is rejected, and you hear about it, please let me know.

Doubt this will fix the problem totally, but maybe we can at least slow it down until a more permanent solution is found.

You know, it was 43 years ago today, that President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas.....Where were you and what were you doing when you first heard the news?
Well, at the risk of revealing just how old I am..... I was in 5th grade. I went to a nice country school, much like Stokesdale Elementary, except the building I was in was very old and there must have been some kind of storage under it because when we looked out those huge windows (which you pushed up to open) we were up pretty high and had to look down to see the ground. I remember staring out those windows and being incredibly sad, but not being able to express it because it seemed that most of the kids were happy that President Kennedy was dead. I remember they let us go home early that day... We hadn't had a TV long, but I remember watching it nonstop over the next several days to try to comprehend what had happened and what it meant. I had a special friend I usually spent Saturday nights with and then went to church with on Sundays. I remember seeing Ruby shoot Lee Harvey Oswald and wondering what in the world was going on that he could just walk up with those policemen all around and do that! I remember watching the funeral and feeling so sorry for the Kennedy family. I think we were very innocent then, and evidently very naive. We lost more than just our president that day.

Crackah! Are you really here??!! Has life at your house been as hectic as at mine??? Trying to get ready for the big feast tomorrow??? Baking pies, preparing all of the ingredients for stuffing, all those yummy smells... And only three trips to the store to make sure we had everything we need!!
Of course, the house smells so good!
Hope everyone has a GREAT TURKEY DAY!!! ♥♥♥

Well, two more have shown up since the last two we got rid of.... Funny thing is, these show as joining the forum Nov. 16 & 17, but they weren't listed as members until today. Wish we could keep 'em from ever showing up... They annoy me...

Yeah, Macca they annoy me too. As these new ones show up, I'll add their domain names to the filter.

HAPPY
THANKSGIVING!
Experts say, to avoid injury, it's best to stretch before beginnin' any Xtreme sport. Pappy's been stretchin' out the ol' gut with extry rations over the past few weeks gettin' ready fer the big day. Fer a Xtreme marathon gourmand such as yours truly (thank-you, thank-you) Thanksgivin' is my biggest challenge. Most o' my trainin' involves pacin' myse'f so's I can outlast the amateurs an' inlaws through a all day eatin' match. When I get in the zone an' I hear Mammy an' the relatives yellin' an' jeerin', uh, I mean cheerin' me on out yonder on the Texas Deck Gastronome, I know it was worth it.
Meanwhile, I got my Howard Coble approved super stretch suspenders at the ready. I hung 'em off the side o' the Texas Deck with a concrete block tied to 'em last night. Hee hee!

Hee hee!

Thanks for asking Pappy.
Overall I seem to be making a slower than normal recovery from this go-round. This aging process is really a drag, somehow it takes the boo-boo's longer to heal than it used to. Yesterday was my lay around day, today I've got to get up and start working the kinks out. Right after meal time...........that is !!!!

Happy Thanksgiving all! Didn't get my paper this morning. Did anybody else? I was going to spend a quiet hour before all the excitement reading the paper.
The Turkey is thawing, the dressing and pies are made, the cake is bought (cheated this year). We won't eat until evening because spouse has to work. Lots of family around. Have a good day all.
