Hey bama... Due to the wonders of the DVR, I watched last week's episode of Dancin' with the Stars last night. Nelly Furtado was on there singing that bird song and I think her earphone (that helps her with pitch) was broken..... It was awful!
She looked good though.

Yesterday morning, after I switched my radio in the car from Rock 92 b/c I feared what they might be discussing and I had kiddies in the car, I found a station actually playing music.... and the first song I heard was "Maybe I'm Amazed," by (of course!) Paul McCartney. What a nice way to start the day.... My oldest has offered to download my CD's onto my iPod (that I've had for months but not yet played) and then get me some kind of gizmo so I can listen to it in the car..... Hmmmm
Today I was listening to Rock 92.... they actually play music later in the day.... Tuesdays are "two-fer Tuesdays" and they play 2 songs back to back by the same artist. Around 2:30 they said they'd be playing 2 by the Beatles next.... and then proceeded to play "Jet" and "High High High" by Paul...... I would think there were some folks disappointed. Even I would've preferred some great Beatles tunes to those particular songs..... ♥♥♥
Looking forward to the new releases.... Sir Paul has an alternate web site to PaulMcCartney.com.... called meyesight.com -- featuring video, lyrics, comments, pictures, etc about "Memory Almost Full." Also have a nice re-worked version of "Junk," which I haven't listened to in a long time.....
It's amazing how music can evoke emotions and memories, calm you down, rev you up.....

I can't imagine how the voting will go for Idol...! All three were great again! I still like Jordin best, I think....
Crackah -- Hope I'm not giving anything away, but the three "stars" advancing on Dancing With.... are Alana, Joey and Apollo..... Next week is the final.

I can't decide about the Idol thing Macca.... I think Blake's the most marketable, but I like Melinda and Jordin. I just don't know.... don't make me decide!!!!!
As for Dancin' with the Stars, I actually came on here to check and see if you posted who left cause I wasn't gonna watch anymore if they sent FatOne home. I REALLY REALLY love that guy! He could be a star! Oh wait, he is!!!
I don't see what the judges see in Alana Ali or whatever her name is... she's good, but nothing like FatOne and Apolo. Joey's got it in the bag as far as I'm concerned.
I've never watched that show before this season and it's definitely one of my favorites now. I do Fast Forward through all of the filler junk though and skip to the dancing.

I have one of those gizmos Macca! It's the GREATEST! I got it pretty cheap at the Amphi-Radio Shack just up the road a piece.
They also sell a cheap little cord (with two "male" ends - I don't know the real name for it, but I do have a funny name for it that I won't mention here.... ) that I keep plugged into my stereo at home so all I have to do it plug it into the headphone jack of my MP3 players and voila, Music's blasting all over the house! That's lots easier than changing cd's all the time.
Now you got me thinkin' about Radio Shack. I might have to cruise thru there tomorrow to see if they have any new stuff out. I love that place!

This just in:
Bo Diddley hospitalized after stroke
Bo Diddley is in intensive care after suffering a stroke in western Iowa, a publicist said Wednesday.
The 78-year-old singer-songwriter-guitarist and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer was listed in guarded condition at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, Neb., said Susan Clary, a publicist for the musician's management team.
Diddley, who has a history of hypertension and diabetes, was hospitalized Sunday following a concert in Council Bluffs in which he acted disoriented, she said.
Tests indicated that the stroke affected the left side of his brain, impairing his speech and speech recognition, Clary said.
Clary said she has no other details on Diddley's condition or how long he would be in intensive care.

Interesting.....
Law revamp urged as rockers' royalties roll to an end
British copyright laws on sound recordings must be extended beyond 50 years to prevent veteran musicians such as Sir Paul McCartney from losing royalties in later life, a Parliamentary report said yesterday.
The issue over copyright has become a hot topic in Britain as early hits from aging acts approach the cutoff point, just as downloading music sparks a revival for back catalogues.
Under current rules, performers can earn royalties for 50 years from the end of the year when a sound recording was made. In comparison, novelists, playwrights and composers enjoy copyright protection for their life and 70 years afterwards.
If the rules do not change, early hits by The Beatles, such as "Love Me Do," will soon be out of date.
"We have not heard a convincing reason why a composer and his or her heirs should benefit from a term of copyright which extends for lifetime and beyond, but a performer should not," Parliament's culture, media and sport committee said in its report.
"Given the strength and importance of the creative industries in the U.K., it seems extraordinary that the protection of intellectual property rights should be weaker here than in many other countries whose creative industries are less successful." The copyright protection for performers in the United States is 95 years from release. It's 70 years in Australia.
The committee called on the government to lobby the European Commission to extend the term to at least 70 years. It also sided with the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry over its fight to force Internet service providers to do more to discourage piracy.

I sort of agree. How long can you copy write something?
I was so sorry to see Melinda go last night on Idol. I thought she was by far the best singer but she will go far regardless and I thought her fairwell song was so professional. She was just wonderful through the whole season. I hope Jordin wins.

I'm glad you could watch Idol Macca.... I heard a few folks up your way didn't have power or cable during the show. I spent that hour on the phone giving a play by play of the whole show!

OH NO! I just checked the TV listings for tonight and America's Funniest Home Videos or something like that is on in the time slot where they usually show the Grey's repeat! Was that episode so bad that it's not worth showing again??? I'm sure they'll show it again sometime..... I have to admit I've not been as impressed with Grey's this year as I was before.....

Paul McCartney Ready To Rock Starbucks
Bosses at Paul McCartney's new coffee chain record label believe more than six million fans will flock to Starbucks around the globe for a first taste of the rocker's new album brew. Select coffee stores in 29 countries around the world will host listening parties for the album, Memory Almost Full, on 5 June.
And Starbucks executives, who signed the former Beatle to their new Hear Music label, are confident that at least six million people will show up just to hear McCartney's new tunes.
Starbucks Entertainment president Ken Lombard says, "Customers from Taipei to Topeka have the opportunity to experience this extraordinary album all within a span of 24 hours."
In total, 10,000 Starbucks coffee houses will be playing the album on 5 June - the day it's released internationally.
I'll be on the lookout for a local party! Meet about 10:30?
