Almost forgot..... I heard this afternoon that this was an offhand remark made by Richards, not to be taken seriously.....

| Ive heard that sometimes people in the limelight say stuff like that jsut to mess with everybody cuz they know it will be a huge deal. hahah. I think it's funny when they do stuff like that. I can't think of anything specific but I think matthew macconnnaahey (however you spell it) tells the media all kinds of crazy stuff.

| Maybe this should be posted on National News? Don Imus (Imus in the Morning) has obviously made a horrible mistake of a racial nature. I don't know exactly what it is because the media has just referred to it - all day long - as an insult to an African American women's basketball team. Can't imagine him doing something so stupid and insensitive. We enjoy him, his sidekicks and his guests, never thought him to be bigoted. Does anyone have a comment on what this is all about?

Welllllllll ol' Imus in the morning stepped over the line when he called The Rutger's women's basketball team a bunch of "nappy headed....uh.... (9 yr old version- Gardening tools or ladies of the evening)" I believe Starcatchr.
Seems he's been suspended for a couple of weeks.
As many insults as he throws out, I'm surprised he hasn't been called to the carpet before now..... I still enjoy watchin' him from time to time though....

| I heard something about it, that he said something about "nappy-haired" as he referred to a women's basketball team.... I don't know if there was more to it than that or not....

I must say I've never listened to or watched his show, have just seen bits of it when he's been interviewed or something.... Just seems to be one of those who goes way out there to shock/impress/titillate, etc.....
From what I heard today, he realized pretty quickly that he had messed up and started offering to meet with the team, Al Sharpton, anyone he thought might be able to help him.... Said he's not a bad person, that he just said the wrong thing....

What does GMTA mean?
Agreed, he was trying to back pedal, but the damage was already done, Al Sharpton was on the case this afternoon.

| Did anyone see Imus trying to explain what happened today on Today? He was kind of apologizing while trying to justify saying what he did. He said that other people do it too..... I think he may have been better off listening instead of talking this time, but I guess that's not his style. What are those song lyrics? "You say it best when you say nothing at all?"

Okay, Crackah!! You need to fill me in on what's going on with AI.... I saw on Fox8 this morning the recap they did of each performance. They all seemed good, although they showed very little of Sanjaya (sp?).... They did comment that show staff held his performance till last to keep everyone wondering what he'd do..... Is he FINALLY gonna go off tonight????? I haven't been seeing the regular performances but catch the show where they reveal who is gonna be leaving.... And I have been so DISGUSTED when he's not even in the bottom 3!!!
(Yes, I've been watching Dancing with the Stars. Yes, I'm one of those who is hoping that Heather's leg will fly off or he'll drop her on her head, or people will see her true colors...... I know, I'm not being very nice...... )
