The Sanjaya thing is becoming quite comical macca. I fully expect the "crying girl" types to push him right on thru to the finals. If he wins, I am gonna have to call for a change in the rules or something... Some kind of judge over ride or recall or something!
He actually did pretty well last night. One out of 20 ain't bad I guess.....
Melinda, Lakeshia and Blake are my favs!

More on AI ~~~~
You know macca, they are finally getting smart on that show.... Ever since the Gwen Stefani/Akon show, they've been highlighting the current popular singers. (Woo Hoo! more Akon tonight!!!) I know I'm finding the Wednesday show much more enjoyable now than I did when they had Burt Bacarrach (or however you spell it) and LuLu.
Teens and Tweens at my house are very excited about Ryan's announcement tonight that they are going to take votes on who WE want to see entertaining us on the show and the contenders are all from the top 50 songs on the charts.
And showing Simon with the poverty stricken children is a pretty crafty maneuver too!

YEP! Sanjaya has to have used up most of his 9 lives by now.... I gotta say he seems to be coming out more and being more personable. I think he's really enjoying all of this attention!
J-Lo sang one of her new Latin songs tonight. I enjoyed it even though I didn't know one word she was saying and it reminded me of a Ricky Martin performance... Livin' La Vida Loca baby!!!! tee hee!

A LEG UP?
Some "Dancing with the Stars" fans are wondering if Heather Mills isn't being given some breaks the same way "American Idol's" Sanjaya is, only they think the judges are taking it easy on her. There is a perception by some that the show's rules are being skewed in her favor. Some claim the judges talk to her differently and don't criticize her the way they do the other contestants. One on-line blogger even asked: "What's up with that? Do they think she's going to go ballistic if they cross her or something?"
Mills first stirred controversy with a late-March performance on the show when she did a flip, a move in which both her feet left the ground. In previous seasons, the judges had said that the move was illegal - but Mills was not penalized for it.

National Treasure....Isn't that the movie Nicholas Cage made a couple of years ago? If it's the one I'm thinking about, it was a good movie!

Cracker Jax, I went with the Stokesdale 5th graders to Washington, DC the week before Spring Break. (I've ALMOST recuperated, although I walked around a lot out at Vulcan today and I could feel it in my right leg again!)
When we were leaving the Lincoln Memorial on March 28 we saw a movie crew out front... At first, we thought there was a real press conference going on, and then we noticed that there were people with cameras pointed at US! Then someone in our group pointed out that we had walked past a sign saying we were entering a recording area, and if we entered we were giving up any rights to compensation but we might be in a movie.
Anyway, I took some pictures (which we were told we could do as long as we didn't use flash).... I recognized a couple of guys. One was Ed Harris. Then someone said it was the sequel to National Treasure!! When we got back I went online and found out they are indeed filming it....
Found this on Wikipedia...
It's called National Treasure: The Book of Secrets. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer said in July 2006 that the sequel involves Abraham Lincoln, John Wilkes Booth, eighteen missing pages from Booth's diary, and a surprise ending with many new twists.
On March 28, 2007, scenes were being filmed in front of the U.S. Capitol Building and the Lincoln Memorial. On March 29th, Nicholas Cage and Jon Voight were filming scenes for the film in front of the White House as well as Lafayette Square. There will also be a scene filmed at the Library of Congress. Other scenes are being filmed at the Masonic Temple in Alexandria and Mt. Vernon, VA. The back lawn of Mt. Vernon, with its magnificent view across the Potomac, was set as the scene of a birthday gala for the President, with filming scheduled for April 13, 2007.
During filming at the George Washington Masonic National Memorial on April 4, 2007, Ed Harris was there in his role as the villain in the movie. During the scene where the Gates's are wrapping up a speech to the crowd, Harris stands up and shows the Gates's a partially burned page of what is supposed to be from the Booth diary.
Filming also took place in McKeldin Library on the University of Maryland campus in College Park, Maryland on April 7, 2007. Scenes were shot in the stacks, special events rooms, and on the mall in front of Holzapfel Hall. A production assistant informed that this scene was following a scene filmed the day prior with Helen Mirren. Portions of the movie are also being filmed at Mount Rushmore National Memorial in South Dakota, as well as on the Universal Studios backlot and Mt. Vernon in late 2006 and early 2007.
(We were at the White House later that day, but at the Jefferson Memorial and on to Monticello on March 29.)

Vicki. By any chance did you happen to see those two 'blue haired' ladies who they think escaped from the Countryside Nursery Home sometime today, and who were rumored to be roaming around Vulcan Materials this afternoon.
There is an ABP out for them if anyone has seen them, and I think my camera caught a photograph of them which I will be forwarding along to Patti and Sandra at the NWO for publication in case anyone in the Northwest might possible recognize them.

Well, my "bovine curiousity" drew me to Stokesdale today.
I didn't find any cow pastures to lie down in, but I did find one heck of a party at the Vulcan Rock Quarry!!!! Woo Hoo!!!!! What a BLAST we had!!! (pun intended )
Free food and fun but I gotta say that I loved the tour of the Quarry best of all! (I got there tooooooo late for Vicki's cotton candy episode or that probably would have been my favorite event!) Ritz Bits brought home a satchel full of core samples that are now on her "national treasure" shelf.
Thanks to the folks at Vulcan (they were all so nice!!!) for a wonderful day and for truly caring about your community!
