I thought it was my imagination! He sounded great and looked great, except for the eyes. Actually, he never opened his eyes (and pretty peepers he has, too) and those dark eyelashes were strange.

Yo ho me hearties! I went to see it yesterday! I watched 1 and 2 this week to refresh my memory and I'm glad I did. I enjoyed it, but I would have liked to have seen more of #1 and less of #2. The action sequences got a little tiresome for me, but the special effects were unbelievable!
I have a question..... The opening sequence... where the little boy was singing the pirate song and holding the piece of eight... what exactly was the significance of that scene?

Crackah! I checked with an "expert," who told me himmer thought it was just to show how far the officials would go to get the pirates. They wanted to force them to get together so they could get rid of them once and for all..... hmmmmm....
Will let you know if I come up with anything else....

Macca... I was hangin' out with my outdoor gang today and I did some askin' myself about that scene. The consensus seemed to be that the accused 'pirates' were singing the pirate song and somehow that piece of eight soaked up the song (or whatever terminology you'd choose to use) so that whenever the coin "sang" the pirates would know it was time to come together.....
Maybe that's partly what you meant too... I dunno. I just think they should have made that a little more clear for dummies like me. :^)

Here's your chance!! Tonight at 8:00 pm, HSN will air a half hour special "Paul McCartney Listening Party!" Woo hoo!! It will feature interaction with fans, video clips and McCartney sharing his personal inspirations.
During the televised special performance, fans can order a limited edition of "Memory Almost Full" with bonus tracks and footage of McCartney in the studio recording his songs on HSN.com.
"Memory Almost Full" is his latest release, due out June 5. It is the one that will be played all day in Starbucks around the world. Hmmmmm......
(BTW: This color is "macca.")

Finally went to see Pirates. Pappy thoroughly enjoyed that'n. I brung my lassoo so me an' Mammy could tie ourselves in fer that maelstrom scene. I liked the part where they all pulled guns on each other an' the monkey pulled a gun on the parrot. Hee hee! Didn't seem like three hours.
Dang it! I fergot to wait fer the bonus scene at the end!

Music trivia:
What ground-breaking album was released in the UK on June 1, 1967, and a day later in the U.S.?

I don't have a clue, but I'd bet Paul McCartney had something to do with it!!!
Where's Macca? She'll know if Grits is correct or not!

It was 40 years ago today...Sgt Pepper wins new fans(Reuters)
Updated: 2007-06-01 14:15
'Sargent Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band,' is seen in this handout picture released by Britain's Royal Mail December 28, 2006.[AP]
Mae West said: "No. I won't be in it. What would I be doing in a lonely hearts club?"
So The Beatles personally wrote to the Hollywood vamp who then agreed to join Fred Astaire and Karl Marx on the cover for "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band," which celebrates its 40th anniversary on Friday.
It took 129 days for the Beatles to record one of the most enduring albums of the 20th century. Their first, "Please Please Me," had taken just 585 minutes to record.
Now 21st century rock stars have paid their own tribute -- Oasis, Kaiser Chiefs and Razorlight celebrated the anniversary by recording their own versions of the album's famous songs.
Recording engineer Geoff Emerick, who worked on the original album, was back at the controls for the 'time machine' recording session. "This is the first time I've touched this equipment since The Beatles days," he said.
Computer technology has transformed 21st century music. Back in 1967, if Paul McCartney sang off-key or John Lennon fluffed his guitar lines, they had to re-record.
Pop historian and broadcaster Paul Gambaccini, reflecting on the album's legacy, told Reuters: "It is one of the great icons of the 20th century. It was the symbol of a very well defined moment in time -- the summer of love in 1967."
The download generation could now give the album another fillip.
"Sgt Pepper has never stopped selling and there will probably be another sales spike when it goes digital," Gambaccini said.
The Beatles have been one of the last big acts to hold out from putting their music on the Internet.
"The danger was that they were beginning to lose their place in rock history with a new generation," Martin Talbot, editor of Music Week, said of young music fans used to downloading their favorite albums.
Earlier this year, the company representing The Beatles settled a 30 million-pound ($60 million) royalty dispute with EMI Group in a deal that could finally pave the way for the Liverpool band's music to go online.
Apple Corps, the company owned by McCartney, Ringo Starr and the families of Lennon and George Harrison, said in December 2005 it would sue the record company after negotiations broke down.
Now, with the last legal hurdles cleared, the Beatles could at last be ready to take to the information superhighway.
EMI Chief Executive Eric Nicoli said in April he was working on a deal to put the band's music online but could not give a time frame.
Gareth Grundy at Q Magazine forecast: "When the Beatles go online, it will be a huge deal and they will sell their catalogue all over again. It's just great music no matter how old you are."

NME.com reports that Jimi Hendrix made a public display of his admiration for THE BEATLES when their seminal classic "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" was released during the "Summer of Love" in 1967.
Purchasing the record on the day of its release, he performed the title track just two days later at the Saville Theatre in London's Shaftesbury Avenue.
Unbeknown to Hendrix, George & Paul were actually in the audience, listening intently to his audacious performance.
Speaking at a later date, Paul spoke of his honor of the tribute, calling the performance "simply incredible, perhaps the best I have ever seen him play."
An excerpt from this very gig is posted on YouTube. (This also includes excellent Beatles footage!)♥♥♥
