Thought you all might get a kick out of this quote which I saw posted on a development consultant's website this evening:

The American developer's house is built by oafs to be sold by thieves to mental defectives. -Anonymous

Somehow I thought things might slack up by now, but I seem to be working just as hard now as I did before the holidays!!

Have done a little organizing and clearing out, and have been so busy that I know I'm not eating as much, but I need a new battery for my scales and can't figure out how to open up the &*^%&$*% thing to see what it is!!!

Finally got all the little maccas off to bed after they put the finishing touches on their Science Fair projects that are due tomorrow!!! They worked hard and are all proud of the results! They learned a lot and it was a good experience for them!!! What more could we ask? ♥♥♥

Macca, can you share what types of projects they put together. It sounds interesting and you have every right to be proud!

You know, the Science Fair has kept a lot of folks in the Stokesdale area busy this week! At our house, Scott and Hayden (my 5th grader) are the "science guys." Hayden has done a project every year, and represented the school at the district fair when he was in 3rd grade. His project that year was on solar energy, and he had good props in addition to his display board. This year he did it on blood pressure, and what activities make it go down. Scott was his subject, and his motivation was seeing Scott check his bp all the time following his most recent stroke....

All of the projects will be on display in the school gym today, and will be judged, with recognition being given to the best. More than 100 children (which is about 20% of the student body) signed up for information packets on the fair.

This evening we will have an Open House, at which time parents will be able to view all of the projects and the children will be recognized. Children who submitted "Reflections" projects, which could be in literature, photography, music or art, will also be recognized and projects that have not been sent on to GCS will be on display. The entire school, including the new building and the newly renovated old building, will be available for everyone to visit.

From 5 pm to 6:50 pm, a fundraising dinner will be served to raise money for the 5th grade field trip to Washington, DC, at the end of March. Called "Sci Pie 2," it will feature pizza, pie for dessert, and a drink for $4 per person. (There may also be salad???) Everyone's invited to come and support the 5th graders and visit the school!

Sorry I didn't post this earlier. I kept meaning to.

Well, we've seen all kinds of projects thru the years! Which cat food cats prefer, which raisin bran cereal has the most raisins, which paper towel is most absorbent, which popcorn pops the most kernels, what part of the house has the most germs... Last year a student had created a mini-cyclone in a bottle! It's always interesting to see what catches their attention to make them decide to do a project. We like just looking at all of them. I'll try to make sure and find out where the Guilford County Schools' fair will be in case people want to go to it. ♥♥♥

Saw on the local news a few minutes ago that John Edwards was on Jay Leno's show last night. He was talking about campaigning and being away from his family. He called home one night to talk with everyone and talked first with his 6-year-old son, Jack, who complained that his 8-year-old sister, EmmaClaire (sp?) had been mean to him. Edwards asked him to put her on the phone and he asked if she and her brother had been fighting. He said she thought about it for a minute and then said, "Well, it's unfortunate, but not surprising.":D:shock: Can you see an attorney/politician in the making???? :D

Morning all! Hopefully today I get my two feet back and can pitch the sticks. It sure does look like January out this morning. I can hear the geese down on the lake raising cane. The dogs were very noisy this morning when we let them out so maybe the cayotes are skulking around.  In case you do the crossword puzzle in the News and Record skulk is a favorite word.

Have a good day all!

I saw Mr Mike on here awhile ago an' I meant to ask what's fer breakfast. Judgin' from the absolute lack of even one microscopic crumb of a bacon biscuit on the floor, I can only conclude that he must have had bacon biscuits fer breakfast. The lack of evidence speaks with a full mouth fer itse'f.

I saw this fellow lurking around up there this morning conducting some type of bacon experiment.
