Pappy, is the other half o' house cleaning, oops, nevermind, I better not ask that question.

"Pappy callin' the Chicken. Come in Chicken."
"This is the Chicken, you lucky devil, come on. That you, Pappy?"
"Howdy, Chicken! O Wise an' Mighty Chicken, O Fair yet Fowl, O Crispy on the Outside an' Tender on the Inside..."
"Get on with it, you ol' coot! You get three questions."
"Well, Chicken, Pappy's confused about somethin'."
"Again? Let me try an' explain it one more time. Corn cobs are for outdoor use. They'll clog an indoor plumbing system every time..."
"No, not that, O Majesticness. I'm just confused about people. I mean, what's wrong with us?"
"Oh, that."
"Yeah, that. I mean look at us, Chicken. We lie to each other, we take advantage o' each other, we see somethin' somebody else has got an' all on a sudden we gotta try an' take it from 'em. Don't get me wrong, now Chicken, there's lots a really good people in this world who'll go way outta their way to he'p a feller out. But there sure is a lot o' downright onery people in this world who go outta their way to make it hard fer other folks. What's up with that, Chicken?"
"Well, Pappy, it's complicated, but a lot of it boils down to what I call The Old Switcharoo."
"The Ol' Switcharoo?"
"Yes. By the way, that was your third question..."
"It was?"
"Cut that out. Now listen. The Old Switcharoo goes like this. If a man is afraid, then he tries to get others to be afraid of him instead. The Old Switcharoo, see? If he feels he's been denied something, then he doesn't want anybody else to have it either. If he feels ugly, then he tries to make everybody else feel uglier, like Baseball Buddy said."
"Sounds like misery loves company."
"Yeah, but it works the other way too. If a man feels compassion, then he wants others to feel compassion too. Understand?"
"I think I get it, Chicken. Onery people are cowards, afraid o' facin' themselves. That about right?"
"That's close to it, I think."
"So what about rich people? Do they want others to be rich, too?"
"Well, Pappy, the analogy falls apart when money's involved. You owe me fitty cent, you old fool."

Hee hee! Vacuumin' was at the top o' my list this mornin', Mr Jim, but I didn't wanna wake Mammy up an' stir up all that dust. So I skipped over to the next item on the list, eatin' breakfast.

Pappy, I am sure you did your part in 'cleaning' this morning.......cleaning off everything on your plate that is.

Mornin' ya'll!
Pappy, I sure have missed hearin' from that wise ol' chicken! He and Baseball Buddy have such a way of putting things in perspective!
SMS.... I don't care about those green thumb forums. I wouldn't care if you swept them under the rug and folks can just start new ones in the spring.
Jim, I've been to that M&M website before. It's kinda neat seein' all the colors available, but it takes lots of Texa$ to actually purchase some..... Oh... do you have the contact info for that genie???

Jim, I visited that website, made up a bogus order.
Holy Cow, never knew being romantic costs so much !!!
I'll probably relegate the green thumb topics to the grave yard, can dig them back out if anybody wants them in the future.

We gardeners mostly hibernate along with many of our plants between the months of November and January. I would not expect much action for these topics on the forum during these three months. I bet things will pick up now as we prepare for the upcoming growing year. How about leaving these alone for another couple of months and see if we come out of hibernation?

Sorry I sounded so callous about your green thumb forums Scott L. I was just answering SMS's question and didn't realize how it sounded until now. I'm fine with leaving them too of course, I just meant that I wasn't going to be posting on them anytime soon.
Really glad you're back!!

Just to clarify, Scott.... By "plant people" do you mean like The Creature from the Black Lagoon and/or Swamp Thing????
Are these people who are also plants or plants that are also people???

Hee hee! While we wait fer Scott's answer, how 'bout some movie trivia. OK, what icon of TV westerns played the plant-like creature in the original The Thing?
