Based on actors listed, I'd say Richard Dysart.....

Sorry, Macca, that was John Carpenter's remake. I was goin' fer the 50s original.
By the way, in the remake, there were two characters with names representin' a very long-standin' computer rivalry. Any guesses?

OK, she was a computer voice in the movie but I give up on the TV role.

Okay, you know I've already 'googled' this one..... I knew the thing about James Arness...... phooey!
I saw that there is a character named "Windows," but I don't see the other.....
BTW: The Adrienne Barbeau clues -- She was married to John Carpenter at the time, who directed it..... Her best-known TV role was as Carol, Maude's daughter (Bea Arthur was Maude). According to her filmography, she is best known for her big bust.....

You nailed the Windows, Macca. Kirk Russell's character, R. J. MacReady, also known as "Mac" was t'other'n.
I've seen Adrienne Barbou many times, but couldn't remember a single TV series she was in. Pappy's fadin' fast.

The Sandman done snuck up on Pappy an' got me in a reverse suplex.
(Reverse Suplex: The attacker applies a front face lock to the opponent and drapes the opponent's near arm over his/her shoulder. The attacker then lifts the opponent into a vertical position, and falls to their stomach, driving the face of the opponent into the ground.)
Oh yeah.
