Don't go celebratin' too much... Especially with them illegal aliens!!!
800! Yee Haw! Thankee, Macca! Pappy's slow, but he gets there...
Pappy's plumb tarred today. Stayed up all night partyin' with them loco aliens. Then I give 'em a ride home to M104, the Sombrero galaxy. Nice place, but it's hot.

Maybe they called it off when the forecast was for lousy weather.... Too bad it didn't work out, since today was such a nice day...♥♥♥
Crackah, I caught the one change you made to your trivia posting earlier today, but I don't know what you changed with the most recent one.... Do we have to keep checking back to REALLY know the answer to the trivia question in case it's ever asked???? ♥♥♥

Perhaps I should edit it again to say Trivial information... there is no question.
I edited it because somehow my text turned into a hyperlink.....
It was strange....

Hey, you never know when some contest or game show will have questions that relate to Ol' Nipper! It's good to have it all clarified here....♥♥♥

I'm not sure where to post this, but it worked for our Spring Festival when I posted it here (Did you see the pictures in the paper? Doesn't it make you want to be sure and come out next year?)
I know I've mentioned before that I coach an Odyssey of the Mind team. Both of my sons have been involved in it and I think it is a wonderful program. You may know that we have two teams from our area who have advanced to the World Odyssey of the Mind tournament to be held at the end of the month in Iowa. Kim and Rob Taylor coach both teams and have been busy trying to get together the necessary funding to enable all these kids to go. PTAs at Stokesdale and Northwest Middle, as well as those two schools, along with GCS, have come up with some money. They were also able to raise a little over $1,000 at Stokesdale's Spring Festival and they sold plants from the Furniture Market this past week.
On June 6, Carrabba's has agreed to provide one of their wonderful dinners as a fundaiser for the group. It will be held at Calvary Church, 1665 Pleasant Ridge Road, near its intersection with Hwy 68.
Kim and Rob are inviting people to be "Shareholders" in the teams. For a donation of $15.00 for an individual or $35.00 for a family, a person or family can purchase a "share of stock" and become a "Shareholder" in their OM Teams’ World adventure. A "Shareholder" supports the team through their financial contribution and prayers or good wishes! All Shareholders will be invited to a "Shareholder’s Celebration" consisting of the special dinner served by Carrabbas at which the teams will show highlights of their trip to Worlds and perform their skits. The menu will be Carrabba’s Chicken Marsala, Pasta, and Salad.
The purchase of an Individual Share for $15 entitles 1 person to attend the "Shareholder’s Celebration" with dinner by Carrabba’s and entertainment by the OM teams. The purchase of a Family Share for $35 entitles 5 people(from your immediate family please!, if more than 5 immediate family members, please add $3/person) to attend the Shareholder’s Celebration.
To support us on this great adventure, you may send your check payable to "Odyssey of the Mind, Team #32736" to the following address:
Kim Taylor, 7729 Pearman Quarry Rd., Kernersville, NC 27284, Attn: OM Treasurer. Please indicate in the memo section of your check "Shareholder Certificate" and "# that will attend dinner".
Kim also has a donation letter on school letterhead in case any of you might have connections with a business that could help by sponsoring the teams with a monetary donation. We will certainly appreciate any support you are able to give & would love to see you at the "Shareholder's Celebration" on June 6!
Sorry this is so long, but I wanted to get everything in! Thanks!

Since I just spent a Saturday consumed with a Graduation at Guilford College, was sitting here wondering if anyone had any good stories about a graduation day of their own.
GCC had a beautiful graduation...outside, perfect weather, great sound system. Was cool to see 420 people walk by (graduates) with a smile on their face.
One grad had a frisbee on his mortarboard, and barefoot, in fact several were barefoot.
The first student speaker ( 20 - 30 bracket) was a bit too negative for me (the post 50 generation), spoke of need for more diversity, was negative toward administration, droned on & on. The second speaker was a 50+ year woman, who spoke exact opposite, ie was part of Red Cross, went to New Orleans, spoke of one-ness, melting away of racial & gender barriers, one purpose, etc. The second speaker got the standing ovation, first speaker was forgotten about.....guess somethings equal out in life.
Oh yeah, and the parties were great too.

So, did we just all snooze today??? The rain sure was nice, but not real conducive to getting out and about, not at least at my house! Everybody doing okay???? Been keeping up with postings, although that doesn't take a long time when there aren't a lot!
It sure is obvious SF keeps us all entertained and educated! Sure would be nice to get more participation from the other two towns! Any ideas how we do that???? ♥♥♥

Howdy, you all!
Does seem to be a lull in the action, Macca. In the Dog Soldiers we'd use the time to reload an' tend the wounded. Pappy's gonna take some med'cine in case I'm wounded an' don't know it. What they call a pre-emptive strike! Hee hee!
Hey, Mr. Mike! What's fer breakfast?

I recon I'm 'bout the only "active" Stokesdale participant! And as for yesterday, all we did was lazy around ... not too much energy with the rain and cold like it was... hope the postings increase... sure do miss the action!
