Not to try to outdo Steve, but here's the official elections results from the Guilford County Board of Elections: http://www.co.guilford.nc.us/election.html. It seems to load faster than the other one (plus this is where they're getting their results anyway).

Thanks Sandra, you are right, it does load faster, and updates every few seconds.  Makes it hard to scroll down thru with all the updates.

Had me wondering too Jane..........just use the page down command, instead of using the arrow down.   you stand a better chance of getting to the bottom before it refreshes

The report I just heard said Nifong, the DA in Durham County, is winning at this point. I was wondering how that race would turn out, considering the Duke lacrosse team case.

What do you guys think about that one? Think he was just looking for the publicity in an election year?

There was an election in Durham county?

I really need to get out more! ;)

I think when I do go out, I'm gonna sign up for a "speed reading" course so I can read those election results!

Sandra I think there are so many things in that Duke case and probably lots we don't know. I guess there is a possibilty that he took it on for publicity to get the African American support. There are such issues in Durham between the "poor" Black community and the "rich" white college, the educated and uneducated. This team appears as if it were totally out of control. I listen as one of the defendents talked about how this had ruined his life. I thought this is what every parent in the world warns their teenager about. Acting in the moment and having it affect you for the rest of your life. This is one of the boys who has a record in another state and seems to feel he is entitled to flaunt the rules but not suffer the concequences. On the other hand I am not sure she was raped but looking for her 15 minutes of fame. Sort of like the perfect storm. Two distructive forces met and the disaster occured.
