Grape Nuts!? You must be thinkin' o' that other crazy ol' coot, Crackah, name o' Euell Gibbons. He didn't fall off the diet wagon, though. His wagon run plumb off the trail back in the 60s an' he rode it out till it come to rest down yonder amongst the wild hick'ry nuts an' untamed asparagases. That's whar he larned he could survive without bacon or gravy. Notice I said survive, not live.

He was actually a purty smart feller in his way. You could put him out in the woods anywhar an' he wouldn't go hongry, I reckon. These days if you're lost in the woods all you gotta do is walk toward the traffic noise an' thumb a ride. Or if you got yer cell phone with you, you could have a pizza delivered to live on while you wait fer a fambly member to come carry you back to the house. Tell 'em you got a pizza.

Ok This is serious, forum friends.....

I know that the first step is admitting that you have a problem.....

It is ebay.  I just cannot help myself.  If you enter the search "scrapbooking you have 72,000 choices and about 20 of the choices end in less than  minute which means that you are impulse buying.  OMG I am so sucked in that I will never attend enough Crops (scrapbooking parties) to complete all of the crap that I have bought.  It is like a yard sale every day.

I have started Christmas shopping.

I wish bama (Written real big in case he is skimming the forum) was here cause I have a baseball delima.  I took the little lacka to a real ballgame while in DC  (Braves vs Nationals) and Chipper would not sign his shirt.  OK he was busy, playing a game.  For those of you who are not baseball fans that would be like the Gabby from Housewives.  He left the game hanging his head saying that he was no longer Chipper's biggest fan.

OK my delima is that he is the biggest Chipper fan ever and I have options as a mom.  I could tell him that Chipper was busy playing the game and didn't have time to sign his braves jersey, or I could make the kid's day and (lie) and go on ebay OK yes I realize I have a problem, and purchase a ball or a picture with his signature and tell the little Lacka tha Chipper sent it to him.....

This is like a reverse Ask Lacka......but I hope I have trained you all wel enough to help me in this situation.....What should I do.

Keep in mind the child eats, sleeps, plays, and lives for baseball........I cannot even wash the dirt out of his ballpants because it is bad luck and all of the moms must think I do not even do laundry...help!!!!!

Oh and another thing I have been thinking about, Macca.  That Sir Paul thing....

So when I was in PEI Canada (Not with SMS cause he would have gotten us kicked out) we had a driver that took us from the airport in Charlottetown to Summerside.

He was a cool guy from Jersey (he said he was there because of the witness protection program, something having to do with the MOB, but he really couldn't talk about it).  We had a long ride from Charlottetown to Summerside so he talked alot.  He was telling us that he recently drove Sir Paul and his wife while they were there.  He said that Sir Paul was so nice and that if anyone spoke to him he made a point to have a conversation.  He said that he signed autographs and was friendly to everyone that he came in contact with.

He said that the wife, or X was using him to save the seals and had him laying out on the ice as a publicity stunt.  He said it was really sad.  He stated again that Sir Paul was such the perfect person.....and the wife or x was such a ....well SMS will get me for saying  that , but I will PM it to you.  He said that Sir Paul was really COOL.

Dear BassASKward Lacka,

I have examined your dilemma in depth and looking beneath the surface, it seems to me that you are looking for an EXCUSE to do a little "WINDOW" shoppin' at the Ebay Boutique....

You see, your true friends will not tell you shop Ebay because that would be a form of enablement (is that even close to being a word??) and we just can't do that.

Here's what you do..... The answer to your dilemma is simple however it may not be the one you seek.   You buy a ball at Walmart, scuff it up a little and I'll sign it for ya. Is that Chipper with two P's??

Signed,

Slappin' you upside the head for not thinkin' of that yourself.

Thank goodness one of the three of you are not a do nothinger.  Do you realize that that ball will have to go in a acrylic case and that in some time in life I will have to confess that it is a fake.  If I do not he will grow older and try to sell the autograph ball and I will be at fault when he is arrested for falsifying information.

Have to admit the  BassASKward  Lacka was funny.

Oh, Lacka! You don't know how many posts I've started but not finished b/c I get so wound up! I might write something about what I'd like to see happen to that --- woman that could get me in trouble!!! When Sir Paul decided to marry her, I hadn't heard anything much about her, but figured his kids were being too hard on him, that after all he was 60 years old and should know what he was doing... But ever since this spring, the more I've heard about her, the less impressed I've been. I've seen them thru the years doing interviews and he always deferred to her when the focus was supposed to be on her. Never mind that she wouldn't have gotten the attention for her "causes" without him. She always made such a point of saying she didn't grow up with his music, didn't have that adoration for the Beatles or him, didn't know his music ("Oh, is that a new song or one you just wrote?"). I "google" him daily to keep up with the sad saga. She seems determined to get attention, regardless of what she has to do to get it. Unfortunately, while it makes her look bad, it rubs off on him too. It's probably going to cost him extra to get her to agree to keep their private life together private. It sounds as though she was jealous of all the attention he got (Hello! He's Paul McCartney!! You're the chippy who snagged him!) and through the years was more and more verbally abusive. He always tried to keep her happy, but evidently during the past year she kept threatening to divorce him. Finally, for whatever reason he said okay, do it. And he filed for divorce. Evidently she thought she had him and he'd never leave. Sounds as though they've both had a hard time, and probably a lot of his pain now has come from realizing how stupid he was to fall for her and trust her. I'm glad to hear from a "common person" (even if he is in the witness protection program:shock:!) confirmation that he is as nice as I have always thought he is. (I still think he needs to find a nice down-to-earth Southern gal:D! Don't tell Mr. Macca, but I could be available in a beat!!!)♥♥♥
