Mornin', y'all.
(Tryin' not to wake the Crackah.)
Howdy, Macca! Fightin' was light on the border yesterday. The intellegence turned out to be weak on the big invasion. Pappy's only real altercation was when a ol' man saw my standard Minute Man issue sack o' doughnuts an' wanted to buy a dozen. Had to take him into custody fer questionin'. We scuffled some but Pappy wore him down by takin' a few hits from his walker. After the dust settled an' we both had a few doses o' medicine we managed to recover.

Don't worry about waking me Pappy....
Lacka took care of that. Never was a rule follower......
Anyway, Good Mornin'!
I read last night on some news channel that the Governor of Texa$ has a "vision" to turn the entire world into his posse. He wants to install 5 kazillion dollars worth of cameras on the borders to watch for immigrants. I reckon he'll hook them up to the internet or something so we can watch from our chairs.
That oughta save you some legwork Pappy.

Mornin', Crackah. As it turns out, we got some o' them cameras up in this neck o' the woods too. Here's a live pitcher of a little skirmish at what looks like the old Food Lion parkin' lot on 220. Ol' Santa Anna musta been playin' possum.

Hi Folks, Greetings from Shanghai China
I am sitting here wide awake since my biological clock says it's 10 am Friday morning, but the rest of the country says it's 10 pm Friday night.
14 hour flight from Atlanta to Seoul Korea.......this was my first experience with Korean Air, and it was GREAT !!. Plane was clean, everything worked, flight attendants were constantly smiling, acted like they enjoyed their jobs, minimal turbulence, good food, etc. Then 2 more hours from Seoul to Shanghai.
Shanghai airport is HUGE, walked outside and the words "sea of humanity" came to mind. Alot of short people with jet black hair and smiles, I'm about a foot taller than most. Overall was easy to cruise right thru immigration & customs, none of the USA "TSA" foolishness.
Be talking to ya later

Howdy, Steve! Can you hear me all right over yonder?!
That must be some experience! Pappy took a wrong turn once an' ended up in Philadelphia. That was crowded enough fer me.
Lookin' forward to more reports! Be careful!

Pappy'll keep a eye peeled fer the boy, Crackah.
However, Pappy is unafilliated with the reg'lar authorities.
I was adminstered a more bindin' oath yars ago by Colonel Crockett
at the Alamo, under which authority I continue to operate today.
Around here this type o' thing actually falls under the jurisdiction of
Summerfield Concerned Border Patrol and Park Security.
Any "pre-emptive security actions" fall under the authority of:
Operation D.U.N.K.I.N
which I b'lieve stands fer

Hi All.......it's 6 pm over here, and 6 am over there, so I'm the only one on right now.
Shanghai is actually a beautiful city. About the size of (some large city?) Atlanta, or not quite a NYC. Huge.
Today we rode the MagLev (Magnetic Levitation) train downtown. Train has no wheels, floats alone the steel track, gets up to 430 km/hr (269 mph). Only goes around 20 miles in total, so the whole trip is 6-1/2 minutes, most of it is accelerating, then decelerating. Incredibly smooth. See attached jpg.
China might still be a "communist" country, but you'd never know it walking down the steet. Capitalism is abounding. We went thru the markets where the merchants hound you every second (zero in on the Americans). I must have been asked 100 times "you want buy a watch?" All stuff must be assumed to be fake, but much of it is good imitations.......Negotiating is great fun. Whatever price they start at, you wind up about 1/3 of it.
Many tall skyscraper type buildings around here, but they are not offices, they're all housing for the people. Saturday must be laundry day.....had laundry flopping all over the place.
Continued........

Construction ALL OVER the place here.......there is some steel scaffolding used, but by and large they use bamboo scaffolding (see jpeg).
It's amazing to see some fairly high buildings and workers walking around the bamboo that is wired together.
Took a couple taxi rides downtown, seems horns are used in place of brakes.....couple times I was walking across the street and got a firm reminder pedestrials DON'T have the right of way. It's OK, my pants will wash.
The entire town is spotlessly clean.......no trash anywhere, no graffiti.
Some of the outdoor food stands will challenge your stomach......entire chickens plucked (we've been there before), large tongues for sale, let's just say they don't waste any of the animal.
Having seen the enormous explosion of growth over here, and capitalism overtaking communism rapidly.......we better quit worrying about illegal immigrants in Summerfield, and start worrying about China cleaning our national clock. Whatever is being made in the USA, you can be guaranteed there is a fake imitation of it being made in China that you can't tell the two apart.

Open air market
A good portion of this stuff is imitation.
I bought a Tommy Bahama silk shirt for $10.00.....she started the negotiating at $35.00.
Bought Louis Viton purses for $15.00.......those started at $50.00, the girl opened a fake wall in the rear of the store to show me her "special purses".

when I say this is wash day......it was from personal observation.
This was the norm walking down the streets.
I'll show this picture to my wife the next time the old Maytag breaks down
