While I was walking back to get the car, my wife saw Ms. NC in the strawberry ride and wondered "why is SHE on the rides?"

Good music...good rides...cool cars... nice folks... a good time had by all!

Good Afternoon All!

I saw Ms. NC on that ride too Lacka and I saw Littlest Lacka riding with her.  Too cute!  I met her after the parade.  She really was nice.

This FDay celebration is quickly outgrowing the grounds!  1st Baptist church was there handing out their freebies which is a HUGE hit every year, The History tent was very interesting and I met Gladys Scarlette who has written a couple of books on the History of SF.  Maybe we'll see Bill selling his work one year! Lots of vendors and displays to see.

SYC had their dunking booth which was a big hit with young and old alike.  The crowd loved dunking the kids, but I had one or two others I would have paid my lottery winnings for a chance to dunk..... of course those 2 didn't come out to show support for the community.

There were some AWESOME floats in the parade this year!

Saw THE movie last night and all I can say is WOW! I can't wait to read the book too! Note to self and all who are interested: NEVER sit on the back row of a sold out picture show. This is my favorite place to sit (no one behind ya) normally and we're usually the only ones on the whole row. But last night it was bumper to bumper and the rowdy folk was all (except US!) on the back row. It is beyond me why a person would pay $8+ to see a movie only to chitchat, use the cell phone, get up and down, etc. Hubby layed down the law about half way through. Lord have mercy!

That Silas character is.......quite a character

Tom Hanks - amazing as always!

Sir Leigh had me fooled  :?  I THOUGHT I liked him!

Mini Mc #1 will be studying in London next spring and will get to see all these sights - NO FAIR!! I might have to stow away :D She is HOME as of yesterday afternoon and we are a family of 4 again - Life is good.

Scuba jane, you just don't know.  I have two older Lacka boys who were very jealous of the littlest Lacka.  They do have autographed pics in their rooms from yesterday, but they are very upset when they heard that the little Lacka has her personal email address.  She did ask if that if we EVER needed a baby sitter for the little Lacka that we chould call her.  She was a nanny before Miss NC.  My husband (who spent way too much time with her) has asked if she could go on our family Memorial Day beach trip.  I don't think so.....Just can't see myself standing beside her in the swimsuit competition.   So we not only have 1 more veiwer, but the two big Lacka and Lacka's Hubby.........

Aeolius, she was the greatest.  She wanted to do the giant slide, but didn't think it would work with the dress that she was wearing.  I think she was right.  I felt bad that they had to stand in line so long for the strawberry ride, but she signed autographs and the little girls and boys were so star struck, while she waited, it was wonderful.  She expected no special treatment and just went along with the day.

She and the Little Lacka are going to exchange pics from that day, I will keep you updated.

Read the book Lacka.

I've never seen a movie that did the book justice except for the 1st Harry Potter movie.

Of course I haven't seen the movie yet, but there's so so much in the book, I don't see how they could possibly cram it into 2 hrs. Your artsy self will like the book Lacka.

Glad you saw it Kris.... I can't wait to go... might just sneak off this week and see it by myself.

I'll sit up front. ;)

Mawnin'!

Pappy's overworked and underfed somethin' fierce these days.

Glad the weather turned out good fer Founder's Day. I thought Howard Coble was gonna ride in the Ferrari with me, but I didn't see him.

Still haven't seen THE MOVIE yet. Glad you liked it Kris. That's a good sign.
Haven't seen Macca's review yet.

Y'all who ain't read the book should read it.

Have fun on that field trip, Crackah! Yee Haw! Head 'em up, move 'em out!

Pappy's gotta go get a tater fork an' turn this stack o' papers in my "in basket." If they set thar long enough I'm hopin' to make some compost out of 'em fer my mater patch.

Lacka, I'm kind of glad that I didn't read the book first. I had no problem following the movie - I was sort of worried that I would. I will definitely read the book though - I could tell that there were some "gaps" (sorry for the quotemarks :D) in the movie that the book would fill in. Hubby has read the book (long time ago and Mr. Forgetful didn't really remember a lot of it) and he says there is much more cryptics in the book too. So I want to read it for that.

It's a long movie - 2 1/2 hours - so make sure you get a big tub of popcorn and visit the little V's or Λ's room before it starts ;)

Good to hear - that gum surgery can be rough. (Or maybe I'm just not tuff enuff :?)

Yes, the oldest Mc is home for the summer! She has made us mighty proud of her first flight from the nest. The good grades make that tuition check a little easier to write :D
