Oh yea.... McGarrett .... Pappy's theory on that was if you say Mike Garrett real fast it sounds like McGarrett and if Michael were to cash in on that he might get a few Hawaii Five-O votes.... Of course Pappy probably didn't think I'd take it quite this far.
Oh, somehow Pappy knew...
Pappy's only surprised when he ain't surprised!
That boy's goin' places! You seen it here first, America!

Hey... need some help... getting ready to move... we have some books to toss. They include a 30 year old set of encyclopedia in nearly mint condition, some old children's research books (from when Native Americans were Indians) paper backs, even a few hard covers. and maybe old text books. Anybody know where they might find a home rather than the dump or recycle bin???

Mawnin', y'all!
Pappy ain't too good as a night owl or as a rooster. Pappy used to get up at 5 ever' mornin' an' milk the cows. I finally figgered out what the problem was an' got rid o' the cows. Nowadays 6:30 is about it fer me, a.m. or p.m.
Looks like it's gonna be a ga-lorious day! Hope the school thang goes good, Macca!
Pappy's yard grass is so tall (How tall is it, Pappy?)..it's so tall, I'll prob'ly hafta use a chain saw an' some dynie-mite to take 'em out one stalk at a time!
Hey, Mr. Mike! What's fer breakfast!

Wepete...you ever been to Edward McKay on Mill Street in GSO? They take used books and might even pay you a little something for them. The book trader downtown in the 300 block will do the same. I doubt you'll get much if anything for the encyclopedias though. Not much call for them nowadays since they opened up the wwweb.....
Other than that, there's always Goodwill. They usually have a truck set up at CCB oops... Suntrust in Summerfield on weekends.
And as for my roosters, I have a lot of neighbors who'd like to beat 'em! Last edited on Apr 29th, 2006 02:29 pm by Cracker Jax

Too bad they canceled the park thang today. The weather tarned out right purty.

Took a road trip to Madison today to look for Mike. Couldn't find that rascal anywhere! I even ate up there figuring he'd drop in. Visited the Super Walmart in Mayodan. That was fun. New retail opportunities always thrill me.
Highlight of the day.... Went to the Stokesdale festival. Ritz Bits had a blast and I got to finally meet Vicki!!!
VICKI!!! PLEASE COME ON HERE AND TELL ME WHICH ONE OF THOSE ROCKIN' BASKETS I WON!!!!!
THEY WERE AWESOME!

Cracker Jax! You won them all!!! Just kidding! :^) No ticket was drawn out that said "Cracker Jax!" Unfortunately, there was none drawn with my name on it either...:^(
We had a glorious day for our festival, and everyone seemed to have a good time. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR COMING OUT, CRACKER JAX!! I hope some other folks from the forums came out too! We appreciate your support and hope you had a great time!
Those baskets were something, weren't they? We started doing that about 5 years ago, and the parents go all out every year to put them together. We made around $1700 on them -- We have no expense in them because ALL of it is donated! We made around $5,000 overall for the day.
