OK Kiddies...

Thanks to all who have shared their stories and to those who have shown support to those in need....

Tomorrow is another day and it's back to our business of nothing.....

Have a WONDERFUL night!

Oh. P.S.  Those of you interested in SF forums, we have a new member posting on the municipal water topic....  He reminds me of someone I knew in a past forum....

Might have to dust off that zorro whip and take it outside....

Crackuh,
You STILL crack me up! Zorro? Whips? Is there something we should know about you?

I just flashed on a VERY nice Christmas memory. (Boy, I bet you guys are glad about that!) Christmas Eve... We get together with my dad's family, so there are probably close to 100 of us. We meet at a church fellowship hall for a covered dish supper. Have done this for as long as I can remember, and I can only think of one year I missed it. (Got a wild hair when I was in my mid-20's and took off to the beach with a member of the opposite sex..... but I digress....)

Anyway, the past couple of years SOMEONE came up with the notion that we need to sing Christmas carols. Mind you, there are a FEW members of our group who are very good singers, but for the most part, we are just your normal everyday joes...

My youngest was sitting with me and my mom and the group was singing Rudolph... and I was adding in all the extra stuff. Someone across the room was doing the same... and my youngest actually acted as though he thought I as SO COOL for doing that! Made me feel good... and I was just being goofy.

In a similar vein.... Some people are good sports about this singing thing, then I have a brother and my oldest who complained that we were hurting their ears. Then I had these cousins, who decided if they were going to have to sing, then everyone was going to have to listen... They were hilarious. For SOME REASON, somebody decided that we needed to sing "The 12 Days." Now, mind you, these people were organized (anal?) enough that they had prepared packets of words to the various songs that they distributed among us. One of my aunts actually assigned a "day" to each group, and split up some with better(?) voices so each day would be covered. This one group of cuzzes wouldn't agree to be split, though. They were the "7 swans a swimming." When it came to them, not only did they sing at the top of their lungs, they stood and demonstrated the lyrics. The next group (aunties and uncles) decided to demonstrate "8 maids a-milking...." Not a pretty sight!

The final song was "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" and the cuzzes kept going with the verses "Now bring us some figgy pudding..." and "We WON'T GO until we've had some ..." I've been invited to be in their group next year!

Funny/Nice stories to share?

Ok so this morning I decided to post in every area here so that my name was the only one on the whole screen. AWESOME! I even posted in Oak Ridge. And since this is the MAAN forum, I can brag about it here.

zippitydoodah, macca, EUSON, bama80- were here to witness it. -if they were paying attention.

I am glad you found your way back though.... It's been interesting around here...Pappy's lost his pappy's and we've got the bug over here at my house....

That is so funny you posting on all the forums to see your name in Lights....What a nut.

Yikes- the bug! It seems to be going around. Everyone's got something. As soon as you get rid of one thing, another group of people passes something else on. Sorry to hear that.

Yeah I actually just set out and was responding legitimately to the topics and noticed that I had posted in all but the OR area. Therefore I had to go and do the Upcoming Elections thing just because.

Still think it's noteworthy that you did it Bama...

We are staying quarantined so hopefully the "bug" stops here... so to speak...

This bug thing.... I'm really wrestling with what to do.....

We go out of state after Christmas to spend several days with the spouse's family. (NO expectations there, so whatever happens is a surprise. Sometimes we get re-gifted things from Sis, who is a school bus driver... Other times a sis-in-law makes nice things to share.... you just never know.) We don't see them but a couple of times a year, we stay with the favorite family there, it's relaxing, I get to read (and get some precious time alone 'cause I get my own room ---)

Anyway, this year I had a bug a couple of weeks back and had to have 2 rounds of antibiotic to get rid of it. In the past when we've made this trek I've picked up a new bug while there. (You know, this is how these things spread. They get shared with these visits to different parts of the country. We build up an immunity to our bugs but are still carriers. Then we pick up bugs we aren't immune to....) So,

Do I stay home and do stuff that I need to do or do I go and take the chance that I'll get another bug? On the one hand, it's another opportunity for my "little family" to be together in a different way and spend time with at least some people we all care for, shop at some different little shops, but on the other it's a hassle and I might get sick again.....

Hmm? Opinions?

Show the bug who's boss and get out there and play like a champion today. Carpe Diem also. This is my cliche' post for the day. (dont expect one tomorrow though; or the next day either)

By all means, macca....go! Nothing accomplished by being a slave to the virus!

(Hope you can take a laptop to stay in touch w/ us!)

I  have often thought that it would be nice if it were socially acceptable to wear a mask and gloves in public during this time of year!

I would suggest making use of some hand sanitizer when you go out of the house too!

I've seen on the news and other places people in some Asian countries wearing masks. It seems to be part of their daily thing. Maybe it was because of SARS or something. Carry Lysol and spray everyone that comes near you. That will serve numerous purposes.

Hmm. Dont you hate when you need to eat lunch and can't decide where to go or what you want.

I'll take the laptop, but must find a wireless cafe or something, unless the relatives have unlimited access to the 'net like I do! (I forget that everyone isn't constantly connected.... how do they survive?)

Good idea about the sanitizer.... I don't get sick much, and I think is stress-related.... If I could just avoid all these unpleasant things.... but alas ... that's life...

I say Go Macca, are you crazy!  You get to read?? and shop?  and have your own room.  Pack your bags and laptop and go!!!

Bama ~~ Glad to see that you are up off the couch.  I was paying attention this am and saw that you were last to post on every page, thought it was pretty funny.  I just thought {When he comes back, he really comes back}

Thanks Crackah, I  guess the bug (virus) came through the computer from your little one to mine.  We are now too hugging the trash can.  UGH.

I am wondering Macca, do you think Crackah is got a little something strange going on with that Zorro whip thing.  I don't know if we should ask too many questions about that, that might be a topic for another kind of forum.

Not read the water page lately, going to do it now so I can try to figure out who is upsetting Crackah.
