Yeah, what she said.  Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday.  Be safe and enjoy your time with your families.

Oh yeah, and I want to hear stories about what you received that will be going in to your regifting cubby.  I can't wait!

Hey, Euson, did you know that there is a regifting cubby for gift cards on the web??? Yep, heard it on News 2 this morning. Oh, and by the way...an item was regifted to me that had been through at least two other families. It was a travel journal called "My Trip". It brings to mind the mystery of stationary bikes (you know..for EXERCISE). My theory is that there are only a dozen on the planet and they keep getting recycled at yard sales.

Euson, Crackah is a "she??!!!??"

Y'all just constantly AMAZE me! I learn so much....maybe I just have a lot to learn...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I HOPE EVERYONE HAS A WONDERFUL HOLIDAY TOO!!!
PLEASE don't tell anyone, but I've already gotten TWO things that'll go into that cubby. One I'm going to wrap up for one of my kiddies. It's a nice ornament, but just not something I really wanted. The other .... well, I went to one of those parties where they played "Dirty Santa." And I got this paper fan, like we used to use at church. The person who bought it had just driven here from Tennessee and bought it on the way, so I thought, ooh this will be nice, so I picked it. (He had left it in the bag when he set it down.) Well, it has Minnie Pearl's face on it, and there is even her trademark tag hanging from her hat. Well, it's cute and all, but whatcha gonna do with it? It won't make good yard art, people'd crash trying to figure out what it was and the first rain would ruin it. So, anyway, I'm not invited to any more of those funky parties this year, so I'll wrap it up (in a nice, big box so no one will know...) and that baby will show up at our party again next year!
GUYS!! We gained 200 hits on the cc's since yesterday. I am so impressed! We are less than 600 behind now! We're just so entertaining that folks can't stay away!
Maybe we'll get some new playmates soon! We always like nice new folks!!!
Cracker (ma'am?)! You're not going away without sharing one of Merriam's words with us today, are you?
:D
Not trying to be forward, but I looked for a word (I'm trying to be helpful, in case Cracker's gone and not coming back today...) and found one that fits us!
vociferous \voh-SIF-uhr-uhs\, adjective:
Making a loud outcry; clamorous; noisy.
Claudio has work to do and I have a vociferous son demanding a story.
--Ariel Dorfman, Heading South, Looking North: A Bilingual Journey
The local heroes received meals, heard speeches, were presented with flags, and were accompanied to railroad stations by vociferous crowds.
--Jeffry D. Wert, A Brotherhood of Valor
Vociferous derives from Latin vociferari, "to shout, to cry out" from vox, "voice" + ferre, "to carry."
Now I'm getting ready to go join the vociferous crowd at Wally World... Send a search party if I don't report back in....
Starcatcher, I guess I should have been watching the news rather than playing on the forum this morning.  I have not heard of this gift cubby for cards, excellent idea.  Very exciting.  This makes me think that there is a lot in this world out there that we have yet to research.
I think you are right on the bike, that is where I got mine, I used it everyday, and then after I got a real coat rack to hold all of my coats, I sold it at a yard sale.  I think you are on to something with that one.
Macca Macca Macca I just thought that, you guess he/she is a man?  Crackah, that is.
Oh yeah Macca, about that Minnie Pearl thing, what if I was the peron who gave it to you.  HEE HEE. Naw I wasn't the one.   Can I get an invite to the party next year?  If I could see the fan, I might be able to knit you a cover for it.
Gosh macca... I am glad you are on the ball. The word merriam sent me today was dumb so I am not posting it.  I like your word much better!
vociferous....good word.
LOL on the Minnie Pearl thing.
Gift buying tip for today:  When purchasing a massage for someone, be sure that that someone doesn't mind parading around in front of strangers in a towel that probably won't cover all of the interesting parts of that someone and that that someone enjoys strangers being all up in their personal space.
Keep in mind that a massage is usually non transferable and can not be regifted, so your money WILL be wasted. (P.S. I would have rather recieved a minnie pearl fan!)
At this party, everyone knows who brought what (unless they just choose not to admit it). And they EXPECT to see the stuff again next year! That's part of the fun. In fact, Minnie would be REALLY popular if she turned up with a knitted cover!
Come on, Cracker! You KNOW I still don't have SHOPPING to do! I just want to go do some research for more postings... Yeah, that's it! Probably find some good "Road Rage" material and everything!
I guess you've noticed I'm still here.... Haven't bitten the bullet and headed for the door yet.
Merry Christmas to you jolly band of rebels and to all the rest out there watchin'! May the spirit of Christmas infect us all and make us giddy with goodwill!
Now I ain't sayin' it's true, but every year there's talk of a different kind o' Jolly Fat Man around these parts at Christmastime. Some claim to have seen him at night up on the rooftops of houses a-dancin' Rockette-style with a team of talkin' deer. Folks say one deer has a glowin' red nose, but others say it's only a cigar butt in his mouth. Sometimes the deer get rowdy and start singin'. The Jolly Fat Man keeps 'em in rhythm by blowin' in a jug and passin' it around.
If you're good, the Jolly Fat Man might whittle a tree ornament for you. Somethin' unbelievable like a little park bridge with a troll hidin' under it with a long list of demands and a stop sign. Some folks say The Jolly Fat Man is a lunatic and ought to be arrested. Others say it would cost too much in taxes to feed him and he's not real anyway.
Well, I don't know. I've never seen him. But I'm pretty sure I've heard his barbaric yawp from the rooftops: "Merry Christmas to all and a good dose of Folderol! YEE HAW!"
Hey, Guys! I'm ba-a-ack!
It really wasn't so bad out there! I guess people who were out were expecting it to be so much worse, so they were actually very polite and trying to stay out of each other's way. The parking lot and the roads leading up to it weren't all that bad either. Maybe I'll wait till Christmas Eve eve every year to finish up.....Not! I'm just not much of a shopper, and so I put it off, and then stuff happens and then....
Oh, yeah! Crackah! I TOLD you I'd get some good stuff to write about!
I heard this woman talking to a friend about getting a mutual friend a massage, "for her back."
I started to say, "but you must make sure ...." and then I caught myself. This wasn't the playground!!! Funny how you see things differently and have to self-monitor more out in the "real" world....
(P.S. Cracker. You may have MP any time!)
:dude:
