Dear Ask Lacka,

I have a Friend who is really down cause it will not snow. She use to get on the roof and dance for snow. Now she just wanders around in her burlap bathrobe wanting to move to a trailer park. What can her friends do to cheer her up.

Ok.. I was in the shower thinking about you guys and again, thinking that I feel so sorry for anyone who is missing the banter that goes on here.

All of a sudden it hit me (not the soap, an idea...) Why couldn't the NWO feature a humor column like many other papers do?

I know there is this one writer who writes for another paper (one with a horned animal as a mascot) and the only reason I pick up that paper is because of this writer... I read the rest of that paper, just because it's there, but I always enjoy the articles that have the humor and sarcasm in them.

So why couldn't Patty run an Ask Lacka column in the paper??  Or even Ask Pappy for an entirely different perspective....?

We could even post the questions for a lot of suggestions if ya'll got stuck or something... Not that that would happen.... But, I'd offer to help.  I just don't have "it" like the 2 of you do.

I think it could be done and still maintain ya'll's  anonoim.... uh secret alter egos.

I didn't post it over there under suggestions cause I wasn't sure if it was a dumb idea or not.  I'd have to write up a serious post so they'd think I'm serious anyway...

Might just help to up the readership of the paper and the forum...

Is that dumb?

Pappy, I am sure if you and Lacka don't want to do it, Mike will.

It is a good idea. I think it would be hard to sustain for a long time due to content. Unless Pappy and Lacka are jsut full of ideas. In that case, then they should just get paid and work for a larger paper than can pay them [here it is] $$Texas. I know it seems like we are fulll of ideas and humor here but my experience with small papers and humor sections is that it gets old. Just my opinion. I am not doubting anyone or anything but.. just my opinion.

Now, thanks macca for the party, and the interpretation of my "ok 401 partys over". muu hahah.

OK So I think I was duped at bojangles this morning. I normally get a cajun filet bisc. combo that is like $4.30 something. Anyway, this morning I order it and they are like "do you want the medium or large" I thought maybe they have changed this again and so I choose the medium thinking that this is the normal size. Well, now she says ok thatll be $4.69. I was like "WhAAT!>!?!$%#" So I didnt make a sccene cuz I didnt want them spitting on it or anything so I just paid for it. Next time, However, I will not be tricked.

Why did they not ask me if I wanted to UP-size it or make it a medium or large for x cents more? I might have contemplated that and ordered a larger one. However, the way she put it made it sound like I only had 2 options Medium or large! OK I know its only 30 something cents more but it is the principle of the matter.

Next time, I think I may have some rude comment like "you mean the normal one, not the 30 something cent more one!!!" But I am still working on it. I only get breakfast once a week or so therefore I will have time to rehearse what I will say.

Public food prep in general, I try not to think about too much....

Speaking of public food service.....Where's Kris???  We need to coordinate where we're eating out tonight!!!

Dear Someone with an uncracked friend,

Is it possible that you are snow blind?  It sounds like your friend is a FLAKE.  I do not think that there is a snowballs chance in heck that we can help this one.   It sounds like you have fallen for this friend and would like to help, I think that you should consider dusting yourself off and drifting as far away from this one as possible.  Things might be a little frosty at first when you tell her, but there is no point in dissnowlusioning her any further. I will have to ask that you cut all ties with this friend and suggest that she find an igloo up North somewhere, way up North.

Hey maybe she will meet a nice snowman up there.

Thanks for asking, Someone with an uncracked friend

Lacka

Dear Ask Lacka,

I agreed with you she a Flake and maybe beyond help. But the Fallen part, you must be lost in a snow bank. You need to plow your way back to the real world. My snow-woman at home has not melted yet. Just trying to help dig-out a friend. I guess she could find a igloo park (Northern Trailer Park). Maybe you can set her up with Frosty.

Scrape it together Lacka, I know you will not drift away.Put on your snow shoes and don't sink this time.

Good job suggestion, Crackah, but Pappy's a little gun shy over new employment just yet. My tailbone's still throbbin' after gettin' farred as a romance consultant. Don't appear to have no clients fer my audio technology consultant bidness, neither. Freelance snow dancin' will mos' likely be done for after this weekend. I thought about goin' into the Hate Bloggin' bidness, but somebody said the market is saturated and readership is down by two. Fur trappin' once seemed a promisin' callin' but the park sign says no firearms or alcohol. I definitely ain't got the stomach fer Chicken Whisperin'.

Nope...I reckon I'll jus' try an' get by on my good looks fer awhile.

Now Lacka is a nat'chal borned columnist from what I've seed. I enjoy a good Lacka rampage now an' then. Lacka has that Lacka point o' view an' always stays focused. I must admit, Lacka's romance advice is much better'n Pappy's. (Except fer that buckskin loincloth thing...uh, no. I'll holler out a warnin' to you next time, Mammy.)

An' I bet ol' Mike's got plenty o' ideas he hasn't even thought up yet.

As a matter o' fact, we got us a whole forum full o' interestin' people that Pappy plum enjoys readin', not least of which is the Crackah! We ought to all take turns an' share the paycheck! Just like we do now, except share the $$Texas. I guess it would be more like ¢¢texas after we split it up. More like ¢¢utah or somethin'.
