I know macca... sometimes they seem so mean, but you gotta figure that's what's selling the show (to somebody.....) so all the nice stuff is probably on the cutting room floor.
I don't like the audition shows myself, but I do watch them simply to hear the spoose crack up. I can't wait for the real singing to begin! Woo Hoo! For the record, I think I'm gonna skip "Abba" week.
Some of the people on tonight's show seemed to be "mentally challenged" and I do think that's going a bit far.
Councilman Crawford would probably say that it is a "parent's duty" to tell their kids whether or not they are Idol material so I blame the mamas and daddys for the other bad singers!!! Don't worry DC, I already told my kids that they sound like a bunch of wailin' banshees, so I'm doing my job!!!
There was a brother and sister who both made it through. I thought they were great!

Yeah, Crackah, I did see the brother and sister and was glad they both made it. Simon still gave her a hard time... Of course, I'm sure it is to the show's advantage to set up this scenario with siblings.... I just think it's a very manipulative show, (in addition to being mean-spirited) and at this point I'm not a fan....

That's ok Macca! Maybe they'll have some good talent on later in the season and we can watch together!

Macca, I felt the same last year when The Trio insulted all those kids. To be sure, those horrible antics are all part of the act and the kids know it going in. I think some try to see just how weird they can be. OK, so I know that I'm forty-SOMETHING, but the thing that concerns me is the reaction of the TV veiwing audience. While we know that some of it is not for real, there's an underlying message that poking fun at the underdog(less talented, most unattractive, tallest, fattest, nerdiest, shyest) is accepted and even rewarded. Very bothersome. I must say, though, that later in the season the show is enjoyable. Great talent, good Cinderella.

Got "The Illusionist" for my Birthday Pappy. GREAT movie!!!! Thanks for the recommendation!!!!
It was a wonderful story. The lighting and cinematography was beautiful too! Sorta gave you the feel of an old handcranked silent movie, but better.

Several years ago, I made a point of seeing all of the movies nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture. Feeling the urge to do that again this year. How many of you have them and have anything to report?
“Babel”
“The Departed”
“Letters from Iwo Jima”
“Little Miss Sunshine”
“The Queen”
