This one's for real!! ♥♥♥

Beatles' "Guitar Gently Weeps" lyric sheet for sale

LONDON (Reuters) - The original handwritten lyrics to Beatles classic "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" will go on sale in the United States on Monday and are expected to fetch up to 400,000 pounds.

The manuscript, penned by George Harrison, includes lines not included in the final version of the song, which was first recorded in 1968.

The bottom of the page also features the words: "The band leader said he ain't playin' no more", which auctioneer Cooper Auctions said was a reference to the tense atmosphere in the Beatles' studio at the time.

Cooper managing director John Collins said the phrase could be referring to John Lennon or Paul McCartney, "because they both considered themselves leaders of the band."

But the owner of the manuscript, who bought it at an auction in 1992, believes it is a reference to McCartney and his desire to leave the band. The Beatles split in 1970.

Also on sale at the Scottsdale, Arizona auction is a new score for the same song written in 2006 by Beatles producer George Martin for the band's "Love" show performed by Cirque Du Soleil in Las Vegas.

Martin is expected to be at the auction to autograph the score for the winning bidder, Collins said. It is expected to fetch 50-100,000 pounds, and the proceeds will go to the George Martin Music Foundation charity.

Other star lots include a baby grand piano owned by Lennon, the earliest known pair of signatures of Lennon and McCartney and a handwritten letter by Marilyn Monroe.

Beatles memorabilia is big business. Lennon's handwritten lyric sheet for the Beatles' 1967 live satellite broadcast of "All You Need Is Love" sold in July 2005 for 600,000 pounds.

I love your random posts! I have to admit, I didn't know who Hank Hill was/is..... Of course, I "googled" him! ♥♥♥

Henry Rutherford "Hank" Hill is a fictional character, the protagonist of the animated series King of the Hill. In the cartoon, the Hill family (wife Peggy, son Bobby, and niece Luanne) has a central role in most story lines, which are set mostly in the fictional town of Arlen, Texas. Hank's voice is provided by series co-creator Mike Judge.

King o' the Hill is the best.

Pappy saw a good movie last night. The Illusionist. Not at all what I expected. Good story, good characters, no overwhelmin' special effects.

I wondered about that Illusionist movie yesterday Pappy.  I saw if for sale but didn't know if it was a good one or not.  Of course when you read the back of the DVD case, they always say it's good so I couldn't really go on that......

McCartney Divorce Named Top PR Disaster

The highly publicized divorce of British singer Paul McCartney and Heather Mills was named the top public relations disaster of 2006 in a new poll.

Sky News reported that the messy divorce between the Beatles great and the former model garnered 53 percent of the votes in a poll by the public relations firm, Rainer PR.

Coming in directly behind the infamous divorce -- which made the couple's names a mainstay in international newspapers during 2006 -- was pop singer Madonna's controversial adoption of a boy from Malawi, Africa.

US reality appearances for Macca, Mills?

Paul McCartney and Heather Mills both have appearances on US reality TV shows in the pipeline, according to a report.

Sir Paul has been approached to appear as a guest judge on American Idol in April, and could be paid £200,000 for 90 minutes' work if he agrees.

A source told the News of the World: "It would put him back on the box in the US."

Meanwhile, Paul's estranged wife Heather has asked producers of Dancing With The Stars if she can be a contestant in the next series. (Editorial comment: She's already asked the producers of Desperate Housewives if she could be on that show..... Another annoucement of her possible appearance on Dancing.... said, "We hope that she’ll be dancing with someone famous, otherwise one contestant won’t be dancing with a star." :D:shock::D

...continued from MAAN II...

Another intererestin' character in the Malcolm Reynolds saga is Mr. Universe, a sort of uber information junkie who keeps his cyber finger on the pulse of the known universe for news he can use. His motto, which is very applicable to the forum, is: "Can't stop the signal, Mal."

OK, I can tell I'm losin' your interest. Did I forget to mention the guy who plays Mal is Nathan Fillion who was on "One Life to Live" years ago? Not only a survivor of the Serenity Valley masacre, but a survivor of daytime TV!

Pappy, When I "googled" this, I thought this was some kind of sci-fi TV series.... I'd never heard of Nathan Fillion.... I'll have to see about renting this sometime....

So, thanks to you and Jimbo, I've learned about 2 movies to look for today! "Shirley Valentine" and "Serenity." THANKS!! ♥♥♥

CRACKAH! Been seein' those commercials for Lost and I can't imagine how I'd ever be able to keep it all straight!! I guess if I bought the prior seasons and studied 'em.... Nah! Too much work!!

As far as Idol goes, I've never really been into it.... then started watching it last year, only to get ticked about how Chris got gypped.... So, I guess when there's nothing else on, I might catch it.... ('Course, that's how they get you hooked.....) :D:D:D

Crackah, I promise that I TRIED to watch Idol tonight, (I thought there was nothing else on, but later I discovered CASABLANCA!!) but it was just too painful. When my eardrums weren't being tortured by the screeching that some supposedly consider singing, I was having to listen to Simon, Randy and Paula insult and criticize people. I don't get the mean-spiritedness of the show....:shock::shock:
