Been missin' seein' ol' Bullwinkle up at the top of the recent column so I figured I'd post over here. Got several interesting things to chat about.
Watched Angels in the Outfield (for the umpteenth time) tonight and never noticed before that Matthew "Ma con a hey" (can't remember how to spell it and too lazy to look it up...) is in that movie. Just a nobody ball player. Can't believe he didn't get Tony Danza's important part but oh well. Didn't remember that he was in it at all.
Next... Macca have you seen the promos for the new Simon Cowell show that is gonna parallel AI but will pair up a real singer (Michael Bolten, Smokey Robinson etc) with a non singing celebrity??? Reality TV! YaY! Can't get more real than 2 celebs fighting it out for some publicity huh? Oh well... you know I'll watch it cause it's reality tv!!!
Last but not least.... Am I the only one bothered by the new movie "SNAKES ON A PLANE?"

WOO HOO!! Can't wait to see that one! All those snakes falling out of the overhead compartments and slithering down the aisles, lurking in the toilet!!! AND NO WAY TO ESCAPE!!!
Been seeing some of the stars on the talk show circuit. They didn't actually work with the snakes (because the snakes might get hurt -- it's in their -- the snakes' -- contract!).... BUT unlike every movie in recent history NO ONE is being given a preview of this movie... Supposedly the actors haven't even seen the final product, yet there is all this buzz about it!♥♥♥

I normally like Samuel L. Jackson movies. Won't ever know if he's good in this movie or not though!!!!
I heard he accepted the role based solely on the title. Didn't even read the script first!

HEY! Did y'all know there's going to be a new "Lassie" movie??? Coming out in September, I think. Set in England, though, which might be a little weird....
The producers say they hope that parents who grew up on "Lassie" will bring their kids to the movie, thus introducing a whole new generation to her. (Although they pointed out that "Lassie" was always played by a male dog b/c they get bigger and have fuller/longer fur.)
They also interviewed Jon Provost, who played "Timmy." It was a nice segment on the CBS Sunday morning show.
They also pointed out that, although folks our age always say "Timmy's in the well?!!?" when we refer to "Lassie" -- Timmy never actually fell in a well!♥♥♥

Yea, but that Timmy was a precocious little youngun who always seemed to get into terrible messes. Luckily his dog always showed up to pull him out of the icy water.... Oh yea... that was Eight Below.
Hope they updated ol' Lassie for the big screen. We tried watchin' one of the old Lassie shows and the kids were bored to death. It was funny watching it again and remembering that it used to entertain me. I think we were just desperate back then or something.

Watched "Spanglish" last night. Never saw it before.
Tea Leoni (besides having a fantastic name) plays a great neurotic part in that. And who would guess that Adam Sandler could play a romantic leading character???
Thought the movie was good but the ending stank.
Won't be buyin' that DVD.

Pappy saw a real good little movie called The Fastest Indian 'bout a ol' coot from New Zealand out to set a land speed record at Bonneville. Anthony Hopkins done a good job. A good story well told.

I LOVE Anthony Hopkins!!!! Never heard of that movie though. I'll have to look it up.
Just watched ol' Anthony as Zorro tonight<again>. He did a good job teachin' that young rapscallion Antonio Banderas all he needed to know to take over the job of the sly fox.....
See? All those spanish lessons paid off! Now I know that zorro means fox!

Macca... I also watched the Teen Choice Awards (under duress of course ) tonight. Capn' Jack Sparrow himself made an appearance and couldn't even give his speech for all the teeny boppers screamin' for him!
Pirates and the cast members won a total of 7 awards.
Probably the most painful moment was at the end when Britany Spears' hubby Kevin Federline made his singing - and I use that term very loosely - debut. It was plain pitiful.
That boy better enjoy his ride on that gravy train 'fore ol' B.S. (Britany, not our B.S.) dumps him.

Oh, boo hiss! I wish I'd known -- I would've at least gotten to see him, even if I couldn't hear him! ♥♥♥

Watched Akeela and the Bee with a friend yesterday. CUTE movie! Might have to buy that one!
Now I've rented the first season of LOST. I can't stand that there's a really "hot" TV show out there and I'm missing it. I also refuse to tune in until I've seen all previous episodes.
I'll report back on whether or not I'm gonna be a LOST junkie like Kris. I'm already "lost" most of the time so I don't know if I can take any more.....

Crackah, between this forum and TV, I'm trying to get a life!! I'd LOVE to cut back on TV time at least.... I tend to keep it on, kind of as background noise to my life, I guess.... BAD BAD habit!! I am trying to do better -- refusing to watch certain things, 'cause I just don't want to get sucked into any more! ♥♥♥
