We've eaten there about 3 or 4 times already & have yet to have a bad experience...
however there was a woman there last night the waitress said was the mgr's wife that did not have her long locks tied back... the waitresses are made to wear their hair up with a hat on... but this chic was in the kitchen & all around the food prep area with her hair all down and a swingin! That was kinda bad-biz...........

I don't know bama, but the last time I went there they had a hard time finding enough silverware for the 6 people at our table.
Silverware must have finally run out.
Never was the same place after they quit playin' the "You don't have to call me Darlin'- Darlin' " song, and dancin' around the restaurant anyway.

Rumor has it this location could not achieve high enough sales or profits to satisfy their corporate office, so in SMSandra's famous words, was erased.
Frankly, our last couple trips there were unimpressive, same excuse (new cook). We took our business elsewhere..........apparently others did also.

CRACKAH! Didn't know you were such a country music aficianado (sp?)... !!! The name of the song is "You Never Even Call Me by My Name." It was written by Steve Goodman and originally released by David Allan Coe. It's great just to listen to the lyrics.....
In the middle part Coe starts talking about how Goodman told him he'd written "the perfect country and western song" and Coe told him he hadn't b/c he hadn't said anything about prison, trains, mama, gettin' drunk, or pickup trucks.... So the next part starts out: "Well I was drunk the day my mom got out of prison.... but before I could get her in my pickup truck, she got runned over by a damned ol' train!"

I don't know Steve-O! I was wonderin' if any of you knew the answer!
I always hear people say "That's the greatest thing since sliced bread!" and I always wondered what they said before sliced bread was invented!!!

It seems to me that the greatest thing BEFORE sliced bread would have been bread slicers (assuming of course that bread was invented AFTER the bread slicer).
Conversely, if bread was invented BEFORE bread slicers, wouldn't it make sense that the greatest thing BEFORE sliced bread was simply unsliced bread?

Well, I knew the greatest thing before sliced bread had to involve carbohydrates, so I'll take that answer!

The Seafood Shack in Walkertown is a pretty good place to eat. Tuna steak grilled was very good. Stuffed flounder was good also , stay away from the steaks and Blu Cheese dressing though. Prices not bad.

Thanks Steve I have been meaning to write about a really bad experience we had at Applebees on Battleground a couple of weeks ago. I have written them off my list of places I will eat. We arrived one night to try them out after several years of not eating there. My husband let me out in front to go in while he parked the car. We waited several minutes to be seated. The people in front of us had not liked where they were seated and had gotten up and were waiting to be reseated. We were finally seated. The place was abosolutely not busy. Lots of open tables. We sat for 8 minutes before a really sweet waitress rushed up and asked if we had been waited on. When we indicated we had not she advised she would go get somebody immediately. 4 or 5 minutes later we got up and walked all the way to the front door before somebody asked us if there was a problem. After we were seated and except for the one contact not one single other person asked if they could help. It was obvious there was no supervisor in the place as the wait staff was congregated in the back of the restaurant talking and laughing loudly.
We went down the street and ate at Laddies and Dukes and it was wonderful. The service was excellent and the food was great. It was no more expensive then it would have been at Applebees. First impressions are so important and there are too many choices for me to ever give Applebees another chance.
